"We recently stayed at The Calile and, unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the reputation or the price tag. The hotel presents beautifully online, but once you’re there, the atmosphere feels more manufactured than genuine — polished on the outside, but lacking warmth, authenticity, and any real sense of hospitality. The overall vibe is quite pretentious, and everything seems designed more for appearances than guest comfort. It felt like a hotel geared towards corporate travellers or people on company accounts rather than everyday guests who are actually paying their own way. The on‑site Greek restaurant, Hellenika, was another disappointment. It’s highly rated, but in my experience, it was overrated and seriously overpriced. The maître d’ appeared to lavish attention on certain guests who clearly spend a lot of money there, while others received noticeably less care. It creates an uncomfortable imbalance and doesn’t match the inclusive service you’d expect at this price point. Brisbane has many excellent hotels and restaurants that offer genuine hospitality, atmosphere, and value. Based on my stay, I’d recommend looking elsewhere."

"Having dined at their restaurant Hellenika a few times previously when in Brisbane, we decided to stay for a night at the Calile Hotel when back in Brisbane. From our arrival, the staff at the door, reception and throughout the hotel were friendly and very helpful. All areas of the hotel were very clean and well maintained. For our family's booking we had 2 rooms, and both were larger and nicer than the online photos. So often it's the reverse! We really liked that the hotel had filtered water available from a water station in the hall to decant into our room's carafe, and bathrooms supplied the Australian natural brand Grown Alchemist. The bedding was extremely comfortable. Throughout the hotel, the interior design is classic, understated and calming. The outside areas extensive use of tropical plants echos this, and the effect is more like staying beachside than in the heart of a city. It was only one night but we had a perfect stay and would be very happy to come again."

"I'll start off by saying the hotel itself is really beautiful and the location couldn't be better. Everything down to the room designs, pool area, the bars- just everything was stunning. We were firstly greeted by a lovely short brunette girl on arrival- She greeted us when entering and exiting the hotel a few times. However, there was no greeting from the other porters throughout our stay and the vibe felt very cold. The check-in process was easy and our bags were taken to the rooms prior and ready for us when we arrived later on. The room facilities are great. There is everything you need and guest services are on call for additional items to the room if needed. We really appreciated the cocktail kit placed in the room for my friend's birthday weekend. A few things that made parts of our stay slightly inconvenient- We asked for our delivery to be brought up to the room but staff wouldn't due to allergies, even though I told them we didn't have any. I understand this may just be a health and safety policy though. We asked a member of staff on the desk if late checkout was possible and she said she couldn't tell us until the morning, but when we rang guest services in the room 10 mins later, they were able to accommodate the request straight away. The charge was an extra $200 for 2 hours extension, which is outrageous for the amount guests are already paying to stay. We also asked one staff member if she could take our photo outside but she was quite rude about the situation. Whenever we had queries during our stay, it just felt like everything was constantly up in the air and didn't feel like staff were going the extra mile to assure their guests. To finish off our day in Brisbane, we stayed at the pool area on level 1 and the pool attendants up there were brilliant and attentive. Overall, the hotel was really nice but the service could do with some improvement."
