"Pretty disappointing experience overall. We had to ask where to be seated and for menus, and even though there were water glasses on the table, no one offered us any water. The $56 steak wasn’t worth it. It was quite tough with a lot of fatty, chewy bits, and we were only given butter knives to cut it with. There were also fruit flies around our salad and drinks, which wasn’t great. The music and overall aesthetic were nice, but the service and food let it down. Not sure if they were short-staffed or if this is the normal standard, but I’d probably give it a miss."

"I spent two nights at Porter House and everything was perfect. The room was clean and spacious, and the amenities were of excellent quality. I especially appreciated the hotel's pillow menu. Since I require a firmer pillow to support my neck, I typically call housekeeping to make this request. To my surprise, the hotel already had a spare set of firm pillows in the room, eliminating the need for me to call. The pillows were high quality, ensuring I slept well and woke up refreshed each morning. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, with Roxana standing out in particular. The only minor inconvenience was the location of the hotel’s entrance, which can make catching an Uber a bit tricky—especially with luggage—since you have to cross the street to reach the pickup area. However, I recognise this is outside the hotel’s control. Despite this small issue, I will absolutely choose Porter House again for my next visit to Sydney."
