"We recently stayed at the Rosewood Bermuda as a summer beach vacation. We are typically stay at Four Seasons properties or similar, and I'd heard great things about the Rosewood and was excited to stay here. Unfortunately, our stay at the Rosewood Bermuda was a disappointment. While it bills itself as a 5 star hotel, it is definitely not. Considering room can run $1500 to $2000 per night, it is shocking the poor condition of many of the common areas. I'm surprised more guests don't complain. The hotel itself is set on a very large property made up of the hotel, a golf course and many private homes. It is a beautiful setting. I would describe it more of a golf resort than a beach resort. The hotels has two pools (one adult, one family) and a beach club that is a 10 minute drive by hotel shuttle. The adult pool is awkwardly set beside the building and lacks any food/beverage service. By early afternoon, most of the adult pool is in the shade of the building. Few people seem to use it, except for a quick dip. The family pool is better located, gets sunshine throughout the day, and was more utilized. The beach club has an adult pool and a family pool, along with chairs/umbrellas on the beach itself. There is also a restaurant at the beach club that is open to hotel and members of the resort. The beach club is a great setting, but totally inconvenient being so far from the main hotel building. The problem with the resort is that it is old and very poorly maintained. It may be because they have a poor hotel manager or because Rosewood refuses to make investments in the property. Examples: all of the white lounge chairs at the beach club pool are covered in black mildew. It's gross. It's baffling why they aren't cleaned properly or even replaced since they aren't high quality chairs to begin with. Cushions at the adult pool are worn out and misshapen, but aren't replaced. There are missing tiles in the pool borders and broken lights that just sit in pieces. They are such glaring problems that they must be purposely overlooked by management or staff. Further, there are basically no food/beverage servers at any of the pools or beach club. You have to get it yourself. It's not a huge inconvenience, but again not what you expect from a $1500/night 5 start hotel. On the positive side, the room we had was very nice, with a very comfortable bed, good linens and nice decor. The restaurants on the property had good food, with Sul Verde being a standout with excellent Italian food. Housekeeping service was good -- if you reminded them to come. We missed the first pass of housekeeping our first day, leaving our room around 10:30am, and they never came back. Again, not what you expect at a 5 star resort. We had a good stay by overlooking the maintenance shortfalls and enjoying the beautiful weather, but I would not return. We have stayed at similarly old Four Seasons properties, that may look a bit dated but are always very well maintained and with excellent service. And when I compare our stay at the Four Seasons Anguilla last year for a similar price, the Rosewood is just rundown with mediocre service. I had planned to book the Rosewood London on an upcoming stay, but now I'm not sure. What I thought was a luxury brand has been a huge disappointment in my experience."

"Beautiful views and Beach…. But ready for a refresh. The pools snd beach club are really rub down. The pool chairs are covered in mold stains. The chairs and umbrellas don’t even match. The people working at the pool barely say hello. You need a towel or chair - you get it yourself. No background music. No ambience. Nothing. I sat for hours before someone offered me a drink. The trolley to the pool is a run down 20 year old van. You can’t help that the ride is long- but at least make it a nice ride. If this van were an uber you might reject the car. I can’t imagine people return when spending $1500 a night here. The common areas and pools feel like those of a run down condo building. Not those of a luxury resort. Side note - if you have any trouble with stairs - this is not the place for you."

"Husband and wife traveled for long weekend in July. Beautiful property overall with some very odd misses for a hotel of this caliber & price. Would probably go again but be mindful of negatives mentioned below. Might explore other top hotels in the Caribbean (there are many places to go at this price point) before coming back to this one. Pros: -Hotel building/property itself is beautiful and very well done. High quality finishings and designs throughout the property. E.g. bar, restaurants, room finishings all very nice and impressive. There are a lot of restaurants/bars to explore. -Beautiful setting overlooking the bay. We had an ocean view king room and got one of the rooms at the very end with its own large covered patio. We could have sat outside with a coffee and newspaper all day. -The beach itself is gorgeous (beautiful sand and water, nice large beach). Beach pool and bar and restaurant high quality. When the shuttle was running (see cons), the ride to/from the hotel was not bad. (We compared this beach and beach pool to the Loren and there is no comparison - this beach is far far better) -We had spa treatments. Spa gets very high marks. Treatment options are more limited but well done. Spa facilities itself above expectations given this is a hotel in the tropics. -Doorman service to arrange cabs was very professional and prompt. This is good since you have to take cabs everywhere. -Conservatory bar gets very high marks. Live music, nice setting, and very great bartender. -Did not have a chance to golf but the golf course looks fun. It is next to mid ocean club and I understand the hotel can help you arrange a tee time there (would pick that one first). -Breakfast at the restaurant was nice on outside patio. Cons: -The beach property is very crowded. They sell memberships with access to locals and seem to have oversold this facility and beach. You have to arrive by noon-ish on a weekend to get a chair. At the casual restaurant one day (casual = bathing suits OK) we were asked if we had a reservation (obviously no) and they finally seated us inside but with apologies that most tables already reserved. -Beach chairs are OK; umbrellas are not. Maybe ~20% are badly broken. Rosewood, you could just charge every staying guest $100 more and buy a new umbrella every time a guest checks in! Service was also not helpful. -Shuttle - this is the biggest con - was sometimes inconsistent. The actual shuttle time to/from the beach is no more than ~10 minutes, but we found ourselves waiting on one occasion >30 mins and on another occasion were taken for a drive around the property to pick up other passengers. They provide the same shuttle to take you to restaurants at the golf course, which means you may be sitting on a wet seat dressed for dinner. Shuttle inconsistency is a major drawback here since you have to take it to get to the beach, unless staying in a suite with a golf cart. -Adults-only pool. In midday/afternoon this is not usable, unless you want to fry! The heat is amazing in the sun and there was little breeze and not much shade. The chairs for general use are situated to look back at the hotel (not the bay) - bay view reserved for people with pool-walk out rooms. We stayed for about 8 minutes and promptly left. -Hotel gym was under renovation during our stay. OK - no problem. Equipment was moved to another location. The location was not marked with any signage and impossible to find. It was also not open at advertised hours. I finally found someone and waited to have them open it (actually they had to go find someone else to open it). Frustrating start to the day. Should not be that hard at a 5-star resort. Other notes of stops in Bermuda: -Caves - yes, great -Swizzle inn - yes, fun (drinks and lunch) -1609 bar at Hamilton Princess - fun atmosphere and setting for a drink -Dinner at Huckleberry - over rated, bad service, food medicore, skip -Dinner at Pink beach club - best food we had on trip (very good) and nice setting -St Georges wandering around - great"

"So beware of the hidden charges. We checked out to find an addition $200 for access to a club they have onsite we never visited and $200 tax. Besides that it’s a nice hotel albeit needing some work. The furniture is all a bit dirty. Bathrooms were not cleaned regularly. Lots of pictures in frames just not mounted well. Not much attention to decor detail. Nice people. Door men great. Overly air conditioned. Bloody freezing in restaurants and bars. Food very very average."
