Pressed against a granite-studded peninsula on Santa Catarina's coastline, where Atlantic Forest tumbles down to meet the turquoise shallows of Baía de São Miguel, Ponta dos Ganchos Exclusive Resort has long held a singular position in Brazilian hospitality — a property so deliberately isolated that arrival by boat remains the most atmospheric approach. The resort's forty-odd bungalows and villas are distributed across the hillside with enough separation between them to preserve the impression of private ownership, their terracotta-tiled pitched roofs visible from the water as small interruptions in an otherwise unbroken canopy. Inside, the design language shifts between two registers depending on the accommodation category. The older bungalows lean into tropical vernacular — exposed timber trusses rising to cathedral peaks, slatted wooden headboards in warm-toned hardwood, hand-woven rugs striped in ochre and sand, Japanese-lantern pendants casting amber light against white render walls. The newer suites are cooler and more considered: polished concrete floors, vertical timber cladding at the headboard wall, sliding barn-door bathroom access, and floor-to-ceiling glazing that dissolves the boundary with cantilevered balconies.
