"Barracuda is a truly special place and easily a 10/10 stay for us. Hidden away along the coast of Bahia, the setting is incredibly serene and beautiful—honestly breathtaking. It manages to feel secluded and immersed in nature while still being just a short walk from everything Itacaré has to offer. The experience was excellent from the very beginning. Barracuda arranged our shuttle from the airport, which is about a 1.5-hour drive, and our driver was welcoming, kind, and respectful. He even had water waiting for us, which was very appreciated after the flight. When we arrived, everyone at the front desk was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Jasmine in particular was a highlight—she was awesome! Instead of a typical hotel check-in, they had us sit by the pool, take in the incredible view, and enjoy a welcome drink while a member of the staff went over the hotel, surrounding beaches, and town with us. Throughout our stay, everyone was always happy to answer questions and was extremely knowledgeable about the local area. The rooms are spectacular. We stayed in the main building, and the view is almost impossible to beat. The design and setting make you feel like you’re staying on the beach and in the jungle at the same time, but in the most comfortable and luxurious way possible. It’s a very unique atmosphere that is difficult to replicate anywhere else. The food was another highlight. Everything we ate at Barracuda was excellent, with the carne de sol being one of our personal favorites. The fresh breakfast every morning was hard to beat, and the bar made some of the best drinks we’ve ever had. One experience that deserves a special mention was our couples massage with Brenda and Mariana. It was incredible. Both massage therapists seemed to know exactly where we were carrying tension and REALLY worked on those areas. I’ve genuinely never left a massage feeling so completely relaxed and released of tension. Brenda and Mariana deserve a huge shoutout—they were exceptional and made an already amazing stay even better. The surrounding area is beautiful as well, and we felt very comfortable walking around. The town of Itacaré is only about a five-minute walk from the hotel entrance and has so much to offer. It’s lively, welcoming, and especially fun on the weekends, so you get the best of both worlds: the tranquility of Barracuda and easy access to the energy of town. Overall, Barracuda was an easy 10/10 for us. Between the breathtaking location, beautiful rooms, incredible food and drinks, wonderful staff, and one of the best massages we’ve ever had, it was genuinely difficult to leave. If we’re ever back in Bahia, there is no question—this is where we’ll be staying."
