"We chose Six Senses Krabey Island to celebrate a milestone 24th birthday, and it turned out to be the best hotel experience we’ve ever had — the first that ever moved us to write a review. The resort is beautiful, but it’s the people who make it. The Manager and Assistant Manager welcomed us personally and quietly made every wish on our list happen. Our butler, Vechaka, was extraordinary — always smiling, instantly responsive, and endlessly thoughtful, even hand-making a birthday poster and gift for us. On the birthday itself, it felt like every staff member we passed stopped to wish us well, and a new little surprise waited in our room each night. We genuinely looked forward to “coming home.” The food was excellent too — fresh breakfasts and standout dinners full of authentic Khmer flavour. An experience beyond compare. "We were whisked from the airport to the pier and then, to the island. It was quite seamless and fast. Everything less than an hour. Six Senses adheres strongly to sustainability principles. It can be seen across the island with emphasis on energy saving, growing their own vegetables, solar panels, etc. Kudos to the practices. However, sometimes, I found it hot especially in the restaurants (no AC indoors). Also, in our room, the AC was “controlled” by a thermostat so at nights, one can literally be awaken by the on and off the AC. Service was fantastic. They were friendly and anticipated our needs. Praise to our “butler” and the breakfast team. Room was sufficient and nice. I liked the layout and design, especially being enclosed by glass. However, the water does leave a waxy/slimy feel to the skin - half the time wondering if I washed off the soap completely. The toothpaste tablets were strange (pop a pill and crushed it with water to lather in the mouth). The bedroom’s fan with the ceiling light was a concern. It created a flickering light effect which can be annoying (may not be ideal for epileptic patients). We had the fan switched off for most of the night. Because it’s low season, there isn’t much choice for food because only one restaurant was opened each night. A tip from Aman Resorts - offer afternoon tea to guests. Not a happy hour but wholesome local and continental desserts with tea or coffee. Overall, I had a great time."

"The six of us visited this island resort during the low season. Prices were still very high though - with the ocean view suite villa costing over a thousand US dollars per night. All prices quoted do not include transfers from the Sihanoukville airport to the mainland private jetty and then the boat ride to and from the resort island. All these will cost you another hefty sum. So do your calculations and sums before you book this resort. Krabey Island is a hilly jungle like eco sustainable place. The hotel / resort is the only facility on the island. The atmosphere is rustic luxury. Check in was as what you'd expect. Our guest services staff / butler (Kumpheak) was excellent, and very helpful and accommodating. All her preparations prior to our arrival and the follow through on various requests during the stay was very well carried out. The villas were all very similar in size, using sustainable, eco-friendly materials and items. The bed was reasonably comfortable though the mattress was too soft for my liking. All the villas we booked had it's own small private pool which was lovely. Housekeeping was generally consistent and prompt. However, room service wasn't so good. The island resort only has two restaurants which open for dinner on alternate days, so effectively, you only have one choice per evening. That makes things rather dull and boring after the second night. So do think twice if you intend to stay here for more than say two or three nights. Breakfast was actually very good. The food was tasty and the range of items was decent especially from the menu. The main drawback is the exorbitant prices which the hotel charges for transport, food and the spa / massages. We had a 90 minute massage which costed above five hundred US dollars for two persons! The food prices were very expensive as well (by Cambodian standards). There were also inconsistencies in service quality - eg two of us were at the main hotel pool one afternoon and no one / no staff came to serve or provide beach towels for more than 20 minutes. We decided to just walk off after that. Another eg - the water bottles in one of the villas were not replenished after the cleaning was done. These "little lapses" made the experience rather disappointing at times, especially given the high prices. While I do like this Six Senses property, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon because there are just so many other equally good or better ones which charge less."

"An all around superb experience at Krabey Island! We arrived with high expectations and they were certainly met. The property is beautiful and the Hideaway villa was incredible, beautifully styled and with a huge private pool. The spa was the best we've experienced in a resort with a great team and a very large well equipped gym. We had fabulous service from all the staff and when we raised a couple of very minor niggles with the GM he handled them very elegantly and calmly which we really appreciated. We loved the service from the whole team but must make a special mention of Nan in the restaurant who went above and beyond arranging off menu khmer menus for us which were fantastic. Her warmth really made every meal a joyous experience. This was our first Six Senses visit and we would highly recommend Krabey Island to others!"
