PB hotel design editorial

Anchoring a corner of Toronto's Entertainment District where a nineteenth-century red brick warehouse survives at street level while a 44-storey residential and hotel tower rises directly above it, Bisha Hotel Toronto sets up one of the more visually arresting collisions in the city's recent skyline. The tower, developed by Lifetime Developments and designed with architecture firm IBI Group, opened in 2018 with 96 hotel rooms spread across the lower floors of the mixed-use structure. Creative direction for the interiors came from Cecconi Simone, the Toronto-based studio that drew its palette from the hospitality world of rock and roll — a sensibility the hotel wears with genuine conviction rather than nostalgia. Guest rooms divide between two distinct moods: some run to deep charcoal walls, burnt-orange velvet ottomans, and brass mushroom table lamps that carry a knowing nod toward 1970s Italian modernism, while others shift into a cooler register of midnight blue velvet, lacquered black cabinetry, and circular smoked-mirror headboards. The restaurant ceiling is the interior's most theatrical gesture — a painted vault in peacock blues and golds that fans toward a glowing open kitchen, the walls clad in dark veined marble throughout. High above, the rooftop infinity pool frames an unobstructed view of the CN Tower and Lake Ontario beyond Rogers Centre, the city spreading south in every direction below white sun loungers lined along the pool deck.

BISHA, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Toronto Reviews

810 reviews

"We had an exceptional stay at Bisha Hotel Toronto. The thoughtful touches—especially the macarons and handwritten card, made our celebration feel incredibly special. Every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and professional, and we absolutely loved our room. A special thank you to Josh, the Chef Concierge, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We felt so well taken care of and can’t wait to return."

"I just wanted to take a minute to tell you how amazing the staff at the Bisha Hotel in Toronto is. Jacob who is the front desk manager and Josh who is the concierge lead the way but literally everyone I’ve encountered during our stay has been amazing. I know that Bisha is new to the Marriott family but they are definitely setting the standard."

"Dearest BISHA, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Toronto. In the heart of Old Toronto, on Blue Jays Way, steps to the Skydome. The pictures on your website and online do the hotel justice. However, the real beauty is seeing it with your own eyes in person. Upon arrival, the doorman greeted us at our vehicle. He asked our names, asked if we were going to be doing valet and within minutes, we were treated as if we were part of the BISHA family. The two doorman made us feel so welcomed. They opened the door for us, offered to take our baggage as we politely declined as we like to be in control of those things we couldn’t help, but feel special in that very moment because of the way they were treating us Both of the doorman opened these two beautiful oversized, black lacquer doors with rusty gold embellishments only to reveal a luscious lux visual of black-and-white marbled floors, and this aroma that only made you feel more than high class but, made you feel like you were in a class of your own. This story continues with the experience of standing in the grand foyer of this hotel being greeted by more front desk staff. Upon checking in, the staff made things so easy and after a long drive the offer of a glass of Prosecco or water while we waited to check in just hit the spot. The front desk staff were so kind and courteous and accommodating. They were truly amazing. The front desk staff paid attention to what we were saying to each other and what we were sharing with them. They were attentive and made sure that we felt comfortable and at home during our stay. The bell man, so kind and courteous, even though that’s what their job is all about, made us feel that it was more for them. You could feel their energy and they’re genuineness to want to make you feel good while you stayed at their place of employment. That really struck a cord and meant a lot, especially coming from a customer service role and experiencing that for the first time on the flipside. The Bellman took our luggage to our room, helped us unload and asked us if he could explain some of the special features in our room to us. We’ve stayed at some pretty high class joints and none of them compared to the experience we’ve had at this hotel. The rooms were solid and so spectacular. You couldn’t hear anything besides the sound of your breath. Noise cancellation was in full effect. We stayed for three nights, the hotel was always clean smelled fresh housekeeping was always on top of everything. We were celebrating a special occasion, and they surprised us with a beautiful cheese platter made by the kitchen on site which was absolutely spectacular and delicious. They didn’t have to do that for us, but they did and that really sets them apart. The floor we stayed on was designed by Lenny Kravitz and his team and let me tell you that these rooms and floor were decked out with the most gorgeous details. You felt Lux every time you stepped into the elevator and got out of it to walk down the hallway of your floor. You felt like a superstar before any drinks at the bar and even more like a superstar after a couple of them, that’s how beautiful this place was. From the French bakery on the side to the California styled and themed restaurant on the 44th floor to the Asian fusion inspired restaurant on the other side, the atmosphere and energy was more than what we could’ve asked for. The food was spectacular and of course, everyone has a certain expectation of what they like and don’t like and the great thing about these three different food opportunities at this hotel gives everyone a little bit of something. The freshness was beyond exceptional. The advice and the recommendations for local eateries and restaurants around the area were on the tips of their tongues, and we were more than grateful to hear what they had to say about their experiences. As I can’t remember everyone’s names as there were quite a few who helped us during our stay, two names in specific come to mind that went over and above to ensure that we were made to feel at home and that was of Josh and Jacob. Concierge and Front of House Manager. (Sorry if those exact labels are inaccurate but hopefully they know what we mean) These two beautiful humans made my partner and I feel like we were five stars. They greeted us they said hello they said goodbye. They asked us how we were feeling and how we were doing. How was our stay? Was there anything they could do to make our stay even better? If we had anything to ask of them, it was without hesitation. We had read the reviews before booking, and most of the reviews were 4 to 5 stars. We booked based on that and we were blown away. This place is an absolute gem. Toronto is very lucky to have them. Out of a five star system this place deserves at least an eight. The cost for this experience was more than worth it. Thank you Bisha, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Toronto. We will be back!"
