PB hotel design editorial

Rising forty-two floors above the dense commercial grid of Mong Kok — one of the most densely populated urban districts on earth — Cordis Hong Kong presents a particular design challenge: how to deliver a considered luxury interior within a tower whose surrounding neighbourhood trades almost entirely in neon and street-level noise. The hotel, which relaunched under the Cordis brand in 2016 after operating for years as the Langham Place Hotel, sits within a mixed-use development whose curved, silvered façade and aerodynamic crown give it an unmistakably early-2000s corporate ambition, the aluminium lattice pergola sheltering the upper pool deck doing its best to suggest something more architecturally nuanced than the base tower warrants. Inside, the rooms carry a palette of cool grey carpet, dark walnut joinery, and crisp white bedding, the floor-to-ceiling glazing doing the heavy lifting by framing views over Victoria Harbour and the Lion Rock ridgeline. The all-day dining space takes a lighter approach — herringbone oak flooring, vertical timber slat screens, canvas director's chairs on powder-coated black frames, and white dome pendants hanging at different heights — giving it an atmosphere closer to a Scandinavian brasserie than a conventional Hong Kong hotel restaurant. The rooftop pool, framed by interlocking white structural arches open to the sky, is the property's most resolved gesture: a long, mosaic-tiled lap pool flanked by cabanas and topiary standards, suspended high enough above Kowloon to make the city feel, briefly, very far away.

Cordis, Hong Kong Reviews

"This is my second time staying here. I really enjoyed the location."

"It was our first time in Hong Kong and we wanted to experience Cordis Hotel, as other reviews online were great as well as received word of mouth from friends who have stayed there before. From the front desk lobby employees, to the ground floor staff, all of the wonderful treatment met all expectations for our family. The staff was extremely accommodating of our family's needs of 4, and we were even able to upgrade from a family quad to a quad with kitchen on our last leg of our trip, which enhanced the experience for us even more. On the final day of our trip, the ground level staff were extremely accommodating of our frequent in and out trips to our luggages, so special shoutout goes to Gavin, Morrison, Cyrus and manager Can for providing such exceptional service. We will most definitely be back!"

"I solo travelled to Hong Kong just after Chinese New Year in March of 2026 for 9 nights stay at the Cordis Hotel in Hong Kong. The concierge staff are willing and offer to carry your bags for you I refused as my bags were quite light. on the check out day they can organise a taxi for you if you want to head to the airport, the taxis seem to wait around the hotel during the morning so its quite quick to get in one. The reception staff were excellent to deal with, they organised a room to be ready for my early morning arrival time instead of having me wait for the usual check in time of 3pm, keep in mind I only stayed in a standard superior room so I did not have the club access or benefits yet were willing to accommodate my early check in. The hotel has 3 restaurants I only tried the Ming Court and I found the staff to be very hospitable and very friendly to deal with, they offered suggestions for traditional Hong Kong food which was very tasty. It is on the higher price range because of its high standard so keep that in mind when dining there. Rooms are professionally cleaned daily and they do a little extra like they noticed I was using the complementary shower items, so they neatly laid them out on a hand towel for ease of use and location. I have a 2-metre-long phone charging cable, so the staff wrapped a Velcro strap around it to make it look neater which was a nice touch. The location is great its very close to the Mong Kok MTR or train station so if your heading anywhere on the central line like Hong Kong Central or Tsim Sha Tsui its very easy. the hotel is also relatively close to Olympic MTR or train station if your looking to head to Disney land or the Lantau Island cable cars. The hotel itself is also located close to a shopping centre and many local and western style food options with also some popular markets and streets names nearby. Overall you can't go wrong with what the hotel itself provides and the location it has. I highly recommend staying here if it's your first time in Hong Kong as it was my first time and I had a great time here."

"The service was outstanding! Noble and Suki were serving our table with great professionalism. Noble understood all the food and wine on the menu and introduced some delicious dishes to us. The few bottles of wine were very nice. Their have the greatest smile on their faces and we felt very pleased. We will definitely visit again soon and looking forward to have another good dining experience."
