PB hotel design editorial

Kohn Pedersen Fox's 65-storey tower rising from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront presents one of the more demanding briefs in contemporary hospitality: to anchor a new luxury hotel at the precise point where Victoria Harbour's western approaches meet the Kowloon skyline, with Hong Kong Island's financial district arrayed in full panorama across the water. Rosewood Hong Kong opened in 2019 within this mixed-use tower, with interiors conceived by Tony Chi and Associates alongside a roster of designers working room-by-room — an approach that treats the 413 guestrooms and suites less as a uniform product than as a curated collection of residential atmospheres. The result, visible in the images, layers sage-green walls, terracotta upholstered ottomans, and woven rattan seating against floor-to-ceiling glass that frames the harbour like a painting you never tire of looking at. The wider-format suites carry darker, more composed palettes — ebonised shelving units, Tolomeo-style desk lamps, and cane-backed chairs positioned at writing desks set directly against the curtain wall. The rooftop pool deck, laid in herringbone stone with teak-framed sun loungers cantilevered toward the water, dissolves the boundary between terrace and harbour at dusk. Downstairs, the restaurants deploy Tom Dixon Melt pendants in brass and smoked glass over slate-dark dining tables and leather-strapped banquette frames — a Soho-inflected industrial warmth that holds its own against one of the most distracting waterfront views in Asia.

"This was our third time staying at RWHKG, and to our very pleasant surprise, it was quite obvious to us that service has improved quite a lot from our last 2 visits. Check-in/check-out was done with warmer tones (still no drinks/towel, unlike MOHKG), and they upgraded the in-room amenities in a nice pouch. They have more people at the lobby to assist arriving guests with luggage/car doors. My family members, which had quite a long stay, also received occasional goodies from the hotel. Rooms are still in very good conditions and housekeeping did a very good job in cleaning. Things still to work on: Unlike Four Seasons/Mandarin Oriental, staff here tend to ignore you when you run into them. I usually greet them in the hallways, and my experience here is that 50% will just outright ignore you. The doormen did open the door, but will also loudly chat amongst themselves as you walked in-between them. There was one night that I was caling for room-service, and i got re-directed to front-desk, which they transfered me back to in-room dining, and as no one picked up, i got re-directed back to front desk. I had to point out on the 3rd time to get them to call me back. Granted, a lot of these are small-ish issues, but they do add up and they simply don't happen at other top 5* hotels. Having said that, it was still a very good stay and we enjoyed our time here. The size of the room, the pool, the gym, the spa, the Chinese restaurant were all top notch. Location was also quite decent if you need to be on the Kowloon side. Would still recommend this hotel overall."

"Our 6-night stay at Rosewood Hong Kong in a Peak View Suite was nothing short of exceptional — easily one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We were traveling with our one year-old son, and from the moment we arrived, the entire team went above and beyond to make our stay seamless, comfortable, and genuinely special for our family. Traveling with a baby can be challenging, but the staff anticipated every need with warmth, patience, and incredible attention to detail. Access to Manor Club was a huge part of what made this stay so memorable. The atmosphere, service, and hospitality there were outstanding throughout our trip. Every single team member made us feel welcomed every day. A very special thank you to Louisa, Jerry, Keith, and Sandy, who were all absolutely amazing. Their kindness and professionalism truly stood out. Louisa in particular went far beyond anything we could have expected — she actually traveled with us through Hong Kong to help us purchase a specific stroller last minute for our son. That level of care and dedication is something we will never forget. This hotel delivers true luxury, but what makes it extraordinary is the people. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care made us feel at home throughout our stay. We will happily return to Rosewood Hong Kong and cannot recommend it highly enough to families and travelers looking for an unforgettable experience."
