PB hotel design editorial

That faceted aluminium-and-glass facade, folded into sharp geometric planes like a cut gemstone rising above Wan Chai's harbour district, is the first thing that distinguishes the St. Regis Hong Kong from its neighbours along the waterfront corridor. Designed by Rocco Design Architects and completed in 2019 within the Wan Chai development zone, the tower's crystalline cladding catches light differently at every hour — a deliberate counterpoint to the glass curtain-wall uniformity that defines much of Hong Kong's commercial skyline. The hotel itself takes up the lower floors of the mixed-use high-rise, with 129 rooms and suites across its hotel levels. The interiors, conceived by Cheng Chung Design, navigate the tension between the building's angular modernity and a warmer, more layered sensibility drawn from Hong Kong's cultural inheritance. Guest rooms shift between two distinct registers: some finished in dark-stained oak panelling with bronze hardware and jade-green decorative discs set into backlit shelving — an unambiguous nod to Chinese material culture — while others take a lighter approach, pairing pale timber floors with dusty blue hand-knotted rugs and wing chairs in textured grey wool. The lobby lounge, its double-height ceiling hung with cascading glass-and-brass chandeliers, draws the eye through folding bronze-latticed screens toward the terrace beyond. At pool level, the building's distinctive facade looms in the background as the outdoor terrace stretches along stone-clad decking beneath a colonnade of arched bronze beams.

"Our family recently spent three wonderful days at The St. Regis Hong Kong, and it was one of the finest city hotel experiences we've had. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, polished, and genuinely personal. Every member of the team made us feel welcome, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The renowned St. Regis butler service was discreet, efficient, and consistently exceeded our expectations. The rooms are beautifully designed—spacious by Hong Kong standards, impeccably maintained, and exceptionally comfortable. Every detail, from the bedding to the bathroom finishes, reflects understated luxury rather than excess. Traveling with family, we particularly appreciated the hotel's accommodation. The staff anticipated our needs, making the stay effortless and relaxing for both adults and children. The breakfast was outstanding, offering excellent quality and a refined à la carte concept rather than the usual crowded buffet, and every meal we enjoyed at the hotel was memorable. The location is ideal, providing easy access to Central, Victoria Harbor, and the city's main attractions while remaining a peaceful retreat from Hong Kong's energy. What truly sets The St. Regis Hong Kong apart is its consistency. Luxury hotels can have beautiful interiors, but exceptional hospitality is much harder to achieve. Here, every interaction felt sincere and professional, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and welcoming. A flawless three-day stay that reminded us what true five-star hospitality should feel like. We would return without hesitation and highly recommend The St. Regis Hong Kong to couples, families, and anyone seeking one of the best luxury hotel experiences in Asia."

"St Regis Had an amazing stay at The St Regis , Hong Kong for a mum , aunty and daughter trip . The service and hospitality given by the staff is one of the best I have seen, and received so far. They are all extremely kind, polite , friendly and always willing to help . Note worthy to mentioned - Alan Chow at the restaurant , he was always checking in on us and accomodating to all our needs , and also Shirley at the front desk who was very helpful and informative . The rooms were spacious , had amazing views , super clean and modern and the bath tub was enjoyable . Beds - super comfortable, we all had good nights sleep. Spa was amazing - my 8 year old really enjoyed her massage and pampering:) The food was great - the breakfast was scrumptious and I appreciated they had a separate menu for vegetarian food for afternoon tea ! Centrally located and accessible to shopping , trains and everything. I would highly recommend this hotel and I hope to come back one day."
