PB hotel design editorial

Planted on Cotai's reclaimed land between the Venetian and the Four Seasons, the Londoner Macao complex provides an unlikely backdrop for the St. Regis Macao — its Gothic Revival clock tower and glazed iron arrival hall visible in the aerial view, a piece of theatrical Victoriana rising from a territory that did not exist as ground until the Pearl River Delta was filled in the early 2000s. The St. Regis, which opened in 2015 as part of Sands China's integrated resort development, fills a 37-storey tower with 400 rooms and suites, its upper floors visible in the night shot with the brand's signature illuminated crown. Inside, the property navigates between the ceremonial register expected of St. Regis and the particular appetite of its Cotai clientele. Guest rooms carry wave-patterned Axminster carpets in teal and gold, warm walnut wall panels framing upholstered headboards inset with mother-of-pearl mosaic, and brass-detailed millwork throughout — a palette that references Chinese decorative tradition without resorting to literalism. The Astor Bar, the brand's signature drinking room, arrives here as a mahogany-panelled salon with deep green Chesterfield sofas, a coffered ceiling centred on a gilded geometric medallion, and a black-and-white chevron floor anchoring the room's Art Deco ambitions. The rooftop pool, its mosaic floor laid in concentric ripple patterns, frames the glittering outline of the Venetian across the strip.

"On my first visit to The St. Regis Macao, I arrived by taxi only to realize that Alipay wasn't accepted and I had no cash on hand. In that moment of panic, George-Terry stepped in like a hero. He kindly paid the taxi fare out of his own pocket first and arranged for the amount to be charged to my room for settlement at check-out. As I was traveling with my family, I cannot express how relieved and grateful I was for his swift assistance. The exceptional service didn't stop there. On the day of our check-out, I needed to return to a previous hotel to check for a forgotten item. Once again, I faced the same issue where the taxi required cash. George approached me first, checked our flight schedule to ensure we weren't in a rush, and personally guided me to an ATM located behind the casino. He even went the extra mile to help me break a 500 MOP bill into 100 MOP notes so I could easily pay the taxi fare. Because of George, my experience at The St. Regis Macao became truly special. He solved every challenge I faced with such professionalism and care. He showed me what true "service spirit" looks like. If I visit Macao again, I will make sure to stay at the St. Regis just to thank him in person. Thank you once again, George. 🙏 I wish you nothing but the very best of luck in your future! 👍"

"Wow what a place and all those professional and courteous staff. From entering just before midnight until arranging personal transportation during check-out it was all beyond I ever experienced. Shout out to Cindy, Rod and Konstatin at the Manor for their impeccable service attitudes but the winner is Concierge Joy Chen who exhibited extremely professionalism in hosting."

"We spent a weekend at the St. Regis for a casual getaway to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The professionalism of the staff and the high standard of the butler service were so impressive that I felt it was well worth my time to write this review. Having stayed at some of the world’s top-tier island resorts, I can say with confidence that the service here is on par with the very best. The team is the definition of professional, showing a level of meticulous care and attention to detail that ensured my family was taken care of at every turn. As a Platinum member of Marriott, I felt they delivered the standard of service that was once highly valued by members but has unfortunately become a rarity after the COVID era. While I interacted with many staff members during this short stay, Hari from security and Asmita from The Manor left me a particularly strong impression. Hari, despite being a security officer at the lobby, is clearly expertly trained; his deep knowledge of the local area, the hotel’s culture, and its history was remarkable. In fact, I initially mistook him for a line manager of some sort because of his professional demeanor and incredible poise. Asmita was equally wonderful. As we concluded our stay with brunch at The Manor, Asmita went above and beyond to ensure my wife’s birthday was recognized and celebrated throughout the meal. Her warmth and attention to our family made the celebration feel personal and memorable until the very end."

"This was our first time at a St Regis property…and it won’t be our last. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, the level of personal attention we received from the staff was incredible. Neil checked us into our beautiful Metropolitan Suite (thanks for the upgrade) while Luke made dining and attraction recommendations. Then they summoned our butler Weng and bellman Jeffery to escort us to our suite, where they made sure we had everything we needed. At every turn, the attention to detail and commitment to polished, professional and genuinely warm service was impressive. Music and cocktails in the 2nd floor bar was a great ending to our day (thanks to Christian, Janice, Maya and Elfie). If you get a chance to stay here, you’ll be glad you did."

"Yooo what a pleasure it is to stay in St Regis Macau. Before we even arrived, the butler service desk reached out (Gavin was on it). If you book an airport transfer, they meet you at the airport. Felix the butler checked us in before we even arrived, so when we reached the hotel, we were escorted up to our suite. The suite was good. Dated, but still luxurious and spacious. Housekeeping is so tentative, Pearl turned down our room with great care. Breakfast at The Manor is good. Cindy the hostess is pro. Amsrita and Rod took care of us and made sure our mimosas were never empty. The St Regis Bar is top notch. Janice the hostess, Maya and Alvin kept the drinks and vibes flowin’. Everyone at the concierge were top notch. All Les Clefs d’Ors in my opinion. If you’re a St. Regis fan, this one is top."
