PB hotel design editorial

Planted on Cotai's reclaimed land between the Venetian and the Four Seasons, the Londoner Macao complex provides an unlikely backdrop for the St. Regis Macao — its Gothic Revival clock tower and glazed iron arrival hall visible in the aerial view, a piece of theatrical Victoriana rising from a territory that did not exist as ground until the Pearl River Delta was filled in the early 2000s. The St. Regis, which opened in 2015 as part of Sands China's integrated resort development, fills a 37-storey tower with 400 rooms and suites, its upper floors visible in the night shot with the brand's signature illuminated crown. Inside, the property navigates between the ceremonial register expected of St. Regis and the particular appetite of its Cotai clientele. Guest rooms carry wave-patterned Axminster carpets in teal and gold, warm walnut wall panels framing upholstered headboards inset with mother-of-pearl mosaic, and brass-detailed millwork throughout — a palette that references Chinese decorative tradition without resorting to literalism. The Astor Bar, the brand's signature drinking room, arrives here as a mahogany-panelled salon with deep green Chesterfield sofas, a coffered ceiling centred on a gilded geometric medallion, and a black-and-white chevron floor anchoring the room's Art Deco ambitions. The rooftop pool, its mosaic floor laid in concentric ripple patterns, frames the glittering outline of the Venetian across the strip.

"In February, I brought my parents to Macau to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary, and our final stop was The St. Regis Macao. This stay turned out to be an unforgettable experience for our family. We were very fortunate to be upgraded to a Metropolitan Suite, which offered absolutely stunning views. From the room we could see iconic landmarks including the Parisian Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, and the Venetian. The view was beautiful during the day, but it became even more magical at night when all the lights came on. Macau is home to many luxury hotels, but the butler service at St. Regis truly represents the highest standard of the brand in Asia. A special thank you to Lina, who thoughtfully arranged a beautiful anniversary setup in our suite. My parents were deeply touched by the effort she put into making the celebration special. In addition to the decorations, she even prepared traditional calligraphy brushes and Chinese New Year decorations, which added a very warm and personal touch. She also kindly helped take family photos for us, leaving us with wonderful memories of this special occasion. During our stay, we also enjoyed several meals at The Manor restaurant, and every visit was delightful. The staff were incredibly attentive and remembered our names after just one interaction. Special thanks to Ceci and Cindy, who not only warmly introduced the dishes but also helped take photos for us and even printed them as keepsakes. Their thoughtful service truly stood out. We were also honored to see General Manager Stuart Douglas again during our stay. It is clear that under his leadership the hotel maintains an exceptionally high level of service and quality. And of course, the St. Regis Bar is a must-visit — the atmosphere and drinks are outstanding. This stay was more than just a trip; it became a very special memory for our family. Many thanks to the entire St. Regis Macao team for such a wonderful experience."

"Just visited St. Regis Macao in December and March respectively. First of all, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Ryan from the Front Office. Very lucky, that both checkins are done by Ryan. Despite the demanding workload during busy weekends, he still provides a smooth checkin process while introducing member benefits clearly. He tries his best to welcome us warmly and ensures the best staying experience. It’s not easy, but we can witness the high standard of hospitality demonstrated by Ryan! Meanwhile, I would also like to point out that every staff we met, at The St. Regis Bar, The Manor in the morning, counter outside the gym room, and the butler team and house keeping team of course, are very nice and friendly. We stayed here for birthday celebration or short staycation break, and we truly enjoyed and get relaxed throughout the stay. Breakfast is nice with great varieties, price of in-room dining is reasonable and nice for spending dining credits. I think every marriott platinum or above members will not regret to stay here, if making reservation thru the FHR program ! The only pity point is we travelled quite frequently to Japan, so we are not aware that getting to hot bath needs to have swimwear, that’s why we didn’t have a chance to experience this time. Will remember to bring so we can get to the hot bath next time! Thank you very much :)"
