PB hotel design editorial

Planted on Cotai's reclaimed land between the Venetian and the Four Seasons, the Londoner Macao complex provides an unlikely backdrop for the St. Regis Macao — its Gothic Revival clock tower and glazed iron arrival hall visible in the aerial view, a piece of theatrical Victoriana rising from a territory that did not exist as ground until the Pearl River Delta was filled in the early 2000s. The St. Regis, which opened in 2015 as part of Sands China's integrated resort development, fills a 37-storey tower with 400 rooms and suites, its upper floors visible in the night shot with the brand's signature illuminated crown. Inside, the property navigates between the ceremonial register expected of St. Regis and the particular appetite of its Cotai clientele. Guest rooms carry wave-patterned Axminster carpets in teal and gold, warm walnut wall panels framing upholstered headboards inset with mother-of-pearl mosaic, and brass-detailed millwork throughout — a palette that references Chinese decorative tradition without resorting to literalism. The Astor Bar, the brand's signature drinking room, arrives here as a mahogany-panelled salon with deep green Chesterfield sofas, a coffered ceiling centred on a gilded geometric medallion, and a black-and-white chevron floor anchoring the room's Art Deco ambitions. The rooftop pool, its mosaic floor laid in concentric ripple patterns, frames the glittering outline of the Venetian across the strip.

The St. Regis Macao, Cotai Strip Reviews

"Having stayed at The St. Regis Macao before, this two-night visit once again proved why it remains a favourite. Bad weather meant spending more time indoors, but the exceptional service made the stay entirely seamless. Pre-arrival & Unmatched Butler Service All my advance requests - including a cleared mini-bar and an HDMI cable - were perfectly arranged before check-in. Knowing our arrival time on a scorching day, our butler thoughtfully left an ice bucket ready in the room. The butler team was extraordinarily patient and attentive; even with our endless requests for extra ice, they served us with complete warmth and enthusiasm. Every staff member strikes the ideal balance between top-tier professionalism and welcoming home-like comfort. Room Quality & In-Room Dining Although the property is not brand new, it is impeccably maintained. Room soundproofing is generally solid, save for the occasional thud when upstairs guests dropped heavy items. We thoroughly enjoyed the high-quality in-room dining: our late-night meal was arguably a bit too indulgent! Location & Value Situated in Cotai, the hotel offers a serene escape while keeping you close to the action. Guests can easily take the free shuttle to The Londoner and walk over, or use the direct lobby connection to access The Londoner's casino without stepping outside. While priced on the higher end for Cotai, the unmatched butler service and refined atmosphere make it worth every penny."

"Best location in Taipa. Flawless service. Breathtaking view (just for the metropolitan suite). Amazing breakfast and dinner. Although expensive in the holidays, it’s worth staying."

"We recently stayed at The St. Regis Macao and honestly had such an amazing time. From the second we arrived, check in was super smooth and welcoming. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a Corner Suite and the room was huge, beautifully decorated, and really comfortable. The St. Regis butler service was definitely a highlight. They were so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Even checking out and leaving our luggage with the bell desk was completely seamless. The service here is top notch. Highly recommend staying here if you want a great luxury experience in Macao. Will definitely be coming back!"
