Spread across a broad coastal site on the western edge of Haikou, where Hainan's capital gives way to the South China Sea, the Grand Hotel Haikou presents a neoclassical sandstone facade — rusticated base, arched window surrounds, terracotta-tiled roofline — that borrows the grammar of European resort architecture and transplants it into tropical latitude. The massing, visible in the aerial shot, steps through a dense palm canopy toward the shoreline, low-slung villa pavilions with dark thatched roofs punctuating the grounds between the main building and the beach, creating a layered progression from formal hotel to garden to sea. Inside, the interiors navigate a familiar tension in Chinese resort design of the 2000s: how to fuse continental grandeur with local cultural reference without the two canceling each other out. The guest rooms shown here manage it with reasonable confidence — carved dark-timber lattice panels framing tufted leather headboards in sage green, striped wool carpets in warm gold and olive, floor-to-ceiling glazing pointed at the water below. One room deploys a brass telescope beside the window, a detail that gestures toward the sea without becoming kitsch. The all-day dining restaurant takes a sharper, more contemporary line, its slatted timber ceiling suspended in geometric planes over pale upholstered dining chairs and a patterned carpet in oceanic blues — a cooler register that sits in productive contrast to the warmer, more ornate bedroom aesthetic above.

"I stayed in this beautiful Hotel for few days only, but i was really suprised how nice and good my stay was. First of all Hotel is huge and all in classic style , Location is great, next to beach, cdf mall and comfortable way to city center. Hotel offer very nice and comfortable rooms, lot of activities like gym, sauna , pools - indoor and outdoor,and very unique place - real hot spring water pools. Breakfast is located at ground floor wirh view for garden and sea behind, everyone will find something for themself like western and local delicious kitchen. Hotel fully respect Accor benefits and follow individual guests preferences . I was almost in all Fairmonts Hotels in south east Asia regio and honestly i can tell that food in this Hotel was the best one - here i would like send special thanks for Mr David F&B Director who showed us best local ,China and other kitchen . Very kind and always ready for help stuff ( most of hotel team speak english ) made my stay as comfortable as possible. Special thans for Mr Bevis Lu who every day care that my stay was really great."

"A very nice and big resort with very friendly staff Please note English is not widely spoken, but they are almost happy to try, and use translation apps The rooms were nice, very clean, reception were friendly, the concierge was always helpful, and the meals were excellent The pool area is very big with plenty of places to sit There are 3 hot mineral pools And the beach is across the road, very clean The day spa was good also We did find the buffet dinner closed on Monday night, but they still had ala carte Overall very good."

"This is a great place for families. our stay was awesome. The beach was great and the staff was super friendly! We stayed in a 3br villa and our experience was tremendous. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful resort-style atmosphere that is also family-focused."
