PB hotel design editorial

Scattered across a forked peninsula where the Zhelin Reservoir meets the broader waters of Lake Poyang's northern reaches, the low-rise villa clusters of Lushan West Sea Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, present one of inland China's more persuasive arguments for landscape-led hospitality design. From the air, the buildings dissolve into the tree canopy rather than asserting themselves against it — a deliberate dispersal strategy that keeps the forested ridgeline intact and gives the majority of rooms unobstructed water views on multiple sides. The architecture draws on a refined interpretation of classical Chinese garden pavilion forms: deep overhanging eaves, dark-stained timber pergolas with latticed screens, and a ceremonial arrival sequence anchored by a symmetrical reflecting pool that mirrors the illuminated entrance pavilion at dusk. Inside, the guest rooms carry the same tonal discipline — rosewood-toned wall paneling set against honed limestone floors, low platform beds on woven sisal rugs, and etched glass screens depicting bamboo groves that filter daylight between sleeping and sitting zones. The all-day dining room pursues a different register entirely: floor-to-ceiling glazing supported by a grid of slender columns pulls the reservoir directly into the room, while a coffered timber ceiling overhead gives the space the warmth and weight the views alone could not provide. The overall effect places traditional material culture in easy, uncontrived conversation with contemporary resort comfort.

Lushan West Sea Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton Reviews

"The hotel is in a remote area, which it make unique, however not difficult to reach (only by car), so better to have the own car as also all the attraction are pretty far. The room was amazing, a lot of space and with a beautiful view directly on the river, it's very relaxing also because it's basically a villa only for you. Also to walk inside the hotel it's very nice as you're in the middle of nature. Manager concierge help me and my girlfriend a lot (unfortunately he was the only one who really took care of the clients). Swimming pool outdoor was closed due to request from government, so I couldn't use it. Negative thing: the staff was not very helpful, especially a lady (don't remember her position), who looked bored to answer and help our requests (2) as she wants to be stay in peace, also the service in the room is very slow. 2 restaurants, both with only Chinese menu and it was on the phone of the staffs, but I didn't try to eat there so I can't say anything about the quality, I tried only the breakfast and it was pretty good. There were the bikes to rent, but hotel staff didn't know where we could go, so why keep the bikes? (my girlfriend is Chinese, so there wasn't language problem) Honestly I don't know if the staff was cut due to pandemic, so at the end I would say that if I have chance, I will go back for sure and see if will be better, to relax and cut the stress from the city, it's perfect place"
