Rising 369 metres above Nanning's Qingxiu district, the Logan Century 1 tower is a supertall whose crown is formed in the shape of a lotus flower — a structural conceit by Hong Kong firm Dennis Lau & Ng Chun Man Architects & Engineers that gave the Na Lotus Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Nanning its name and its entire design identity. Opened in 2019, the hotel is fitted into floors 63 through 80 of the 80-storey tower, placing all 290 rooms and 26 suites in a vertical position that few city hotels anywhere can match. Floor-to-ceiling glazing in every room frames uninterrupted views across the Yong River and toward Qingxiu Mountain, the city spreading in every direction far below. Hirsch Bedner Associates shaped the interiors around the heritage of the Zhuang ethnic minority, threading lotus motifs and abstracted farmland patterns through carpets, wall panels, and soft furnishings without letting the cultural references harden into decoration for its own sake. Guest rooms show the approach at its most direct: hand-painted plum blossom panels above padded headboards, cloud-patterned rugs in washes of blue and ochre, and dark-stained timber cabinetry set against full-height glass. The sky bar presents dark Nero Marquina marble at the counter and counter-top, bubble-cluster pendant chandeliers descending in spiralling columns, and lounge seating arranged to face the city's amber grid below. Up on the pool level, veined white marble columns and layered stone walls give the lap pool the cool, mineral atmosphere of something carved rather than constructed.
