"it’s right in the busy Jing'an/West Nanjing Road area, I expected a typical, chaotic city hotel, but this place feels totally different. It’s styled like a quiet urban resort, using a lot of wood and natural stone that immediately makes you feel relaxed the second you walk in. The rooms are great. really quiet, cozy, and completely blocked out the city noise. One of my favorite parts was breakfast; instead of a massive, messy buffet line, they do refined set menus that felt way more laid-back and premium. The staff were super welcoming and helpful without being stiff or overly formal, and being within walking distance to Zhangyuan and great shopping was a huge plus. If you want a luxury hotel that feels calm, modern, and tucked away from the crowd, I’d highly recommend it. I’d definitely stay here again."

"My stay at Alila Shanghai felt thoughtfully curated from start to finish. The room was beautifully designed – calm, minimal, and comfortable, with large windows that filled the space with natural light and created a peaceful escape from the city. Mornings began with a really good breakfast – relaxed, with a nice selection and quality. A pleasant moment was the Evening Ritual at Chayan @5TH , a daily privilege for in-house guests, perfect for a calm end to the day. Dinner at 500 Weihai Road was a good way to end the day. Just steps away from Jing’an Temple, Nanjing West Road, and some of Shanghai’s most vibrant streets, the location is ideal for exploring the city. Overall, a stay defined by calm atmosphere, thoughtful details, and easy hospitality in the heart of Shanghai."
