Taylor greeted me by name and made friendly small talk, which added a very personal touch to the experience. A special thank-you to 余應方 for keeping my room exceptionally neat and tidy, while adding thoughtful little surprises that made returning to the room each day a pleasure. Mia is definitely a star and was outstanding. She gave me a thorough room tour and went above and beyond by anticipating my needs and arranging additional amenities. She even tried to assist with a restaurant reservation and thoughtfully offered alternative options when needed. Her farewell gifts, carefully chosen around my interests, were an especially touching and unforgettable gesture. Michael prepared drinks professionally and engaged with guests very well, sharing extra information that made the experience even more enjoyable. Helen also deserves recognition for her warm smile and professional service throughout my stay. The whole experience reflects excellent leadership and a team that clearly takes pride in maintaining high service standards at all times. "作为一个对万豪旗下的艾迪逊品牌寄予厚望的客人，上海艾迪逊酒店顶楼Roof酒吧的表现令人瞠目结舌且无比愤怒。 ​首先，酒吧存在极其明显的双标服务与种族歧视现象。在排位和安排座席时，工作人员对外籍宾客奉上谄媚热情的态度，甚至在没有预约的情况下直接安排观景极佳的核心位置；而对本地/华人宾客却冷漠敷衍，即使提前到达或有预约，也被强行安排在角落或视野极差的区域，并被告知好位置“已被预订”。这种“崇洋媚外”的歧视性对待不仅拉低了五星级酒店的格调，更严重伤害了消费者的尊严。 ​其次，该酒吧公然违反《上海市控制吸烟条例》。现场多名客人违规吸烟，整个环境二手烟密布。当我们向现场服务人员反映并要求劝阻时，员工态度敷衍，甚至拒不劝阻，任由违规吸烟行为发生。 ​作为一家奢华酒店，这里不仅缺少基本的职业素养与平等尊重的态度，更缺乏对当地法律法规的守法敬畏。已针对违规吸烟问题向相关部门提交正式投诉，强烈建议大家避雷，不要花钱买罪受。 ​ ​As someone who expected high standards from the luxury EDITION brand, my experience at The Shanghai EDITION’s Rooftop Bar was utterly appalling and infuriating. ​First and foremost, there is unacceptable racial discrimination and blatant double standards in both seating allocation and service. Staff members displayed overt favoritism towards foreign/Western guests—welcoming them with utmost enthusiasm and immediately seating them at prime view tables without prior reservations. Meanwhile, local/Asian guests, regardless of early arrival or reservations, were dismissively assigned to obscure corners with terrible views, being lied to that better seats were "reserved." This cowering, discriminatory attitude completely cheapens the brand and disrespects paying customers. ​Furthermore, the rooftop bar directly violates the Shanghai Smoking Control Regulations. Multiple guests were smoking in non-designated areas, filling the space with secondhand smoke. When we raised this issue with the staff and asked them to enforce the smoking ban, they casually brushed it off and refused to intervene. ​A luxury hotel should uphold equality, professional service, and respect for local laws. Neither was present here. I have officially reported their smoking enforcement violations to the municipal authorities. Save your money and dignity—avoid this place at all costs."

"If you run a hotel like The Shanghai Edition you want a Front of the House like Chris. He does not tare care, he truly looks after you. I will most certainly return, as the house is perfectly located, the venue is in a mint condition, food is great and the service is outstanding. If the the rooftop bar of the hotel will join this spirit one day, even better."

"My stay at The Shanghai EDITION was simply outstanding from start to finish. The welcome was warm and professional, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. The staff made us feel genuinely valued throughout our stay and were always ready to help with a smile. The room was beautifully designed, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable. Every detail reflected the high standards of the hotel, from the quality of the amenities to the stunning city views. The location couldn't be better. Being right on East Nanjing Road made it incredibly convenient for shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing, while The Bund was only a short walk away. The facilities were excellent, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was elegant, modern, and relaxing. Housekeeping was impeccable, and every member of the team consistently delivered outstanding service. Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. I would happily return on my next visit to Shanghai and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury stay in the city.
