"I stayed at an EDITION hotel to celebrate my daughter’s graduation, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience overall due to multiple issues.
Initially, I made a reservation through Marriott Bonvoy. However, I rebooked via my American Express Platinum Card to take advantage of the ¥20,000 travel credit and additional benefits (including about RMB 700 equivalent in hotel credits). Despite having separate reservation numbers, both bookings were unexpectedly canceled without my consent. Even after confirming with the Amex concierge, the reservation remained canceled—and worse, I was still charged without a refund. I only discovered this by chance when I called the hotel. In the end, I had to make a new reservation myself. Honestly, if I hadn’t called, I can’t imagine what would have happened on the day of check-in.
At check-in, there was no apology, and the hotel did not acknowledge their mistake, which was quite shocking. Although I am a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, I was not upgraded and was assigned a low-floor room. Instead, I was offered RMB 300 as compensation, which was later increased to a total of RMB 1,000 in hotel credit. I accepted this.
After being shown to my room around 1:30 PM, I had lunch at the hotel’s first-floor restaurant. We ordered Iberico pork ribs steak, sea urchin and salmon roe risotto, oxtail soup, and mushroom truffle soup. The food took 1 hour and 20 minutes to be served, which is far too long—so I would not recommend this restaurant if you are short on time. Although it is listed as a Michelin restaurant, the taste was just average. Service, however, was good. Due to the long wait, we were given a complimentary cake (which I didn’t try).
The lunch cost was about RMB 730, leaving roughly RMB 270 in credit. Later that evening, we went to the rooftop bar to enjoy the Shanghai night view. We ordered two cocktails (under RMB 230 total) and charged them to the room as usual. However, shortly after returning to the room, I received a call from the bar asking me to come back and pay. This was very confusing, as I had not exceeded the RMB 1,000 credit. After contacting the front desk, they initially claimed I had already used around RMB 730. I had to point out that I still had remaining credit. After rechecking, they called back and apologized, explaining it was due to a staff input error. Eventually, they confirmed that no payment was needed.
For a five-star hotel, there were simply too many mistakes—this level of confusion is unacceptable.
That said, I would like to sincerely thank one female staff member (I didn’t catch her name) who was exceptionally kind. When I injured my finger, she thoughtfully brought disinfectant swabs and bandages to my room. Her attentiveness and care truly impressed me.
Breakfast is à la carte, so the variety is limited. I didn’t try much, but the shrimp dumplings were delicious.
It’s really unfortunate, as I chose this EDITION hotel to celebrate my daughter’s special milestone. I had high expectations, but the experience did not meet them.
娘の卒業祝いでEDITIONホテルに宿泊しましたが、トラブルが多く全体的に非常に残念な滞在となりました。
当初はマリオットボンヴォイから予約していましたが、アメックスプラチナカード経由で予約すると2万円分のトラベルクレジットや約700人民元相当の館内クレジットが付くため、そちらで取り直しました。しかし、予約番号が別であるにも関わらず両方とも勝手にキャンセルされており、しかも返金もされていない状態でした。たまたま電話した際に発覚しましたが、こちらから連絡していなければ当日どうなっていたのか不安になります。最終的には自分で再予約することになりました。
チェックイン時も謝罪はなく、ホテル側はミスを認めず非常に不信感を抱きました。マリオットのプラチナエリート会員ですがアップグレードはなく低層階の案内。その代わりとして最終的に合計1,000人民元分の館内クレジットを提示され了承しました。
昼食は館内レストランを利用しましたが、料理の提供までに1時間20分かかり、時間がない方にはおすすめできません。ミシュラン掲載とのことですが味は普通でした。ただしサービス自体は良かったです。時間がかかったお詫びとしてケーキをいただきました(未食)。
その後、残りのクレジットを利用するため屋上バーを利用しましたが、精算不要のはずにも関わらず支払いを求める電話が部屋にありました。フロントに確認すると、最初は利用額の計算ミスがあり、最終的に入力ミスだったと説明と謝罪がありました。このようなミスが重なる点は、五つ星ホテルとしては考えられません。
一方で、指を怪我した際に消毒液と絆創膏をわざわざ届けてくれた女性スタッフの対応は非常に素晴らしく、心から感謝しています。
朝食はオーダー式で種類は少なめですが、海老餃子は美味しかったです。
特別な記念旅行として選んだホテルだっただけに、とても残念な滞在となりました。
为了庆祝女儿毕业,我们选择入住EDITION酒店,但整体体验却因各种问题令人非常失望。
最初我通过万豪旅享家(Marriott Bonvoy)预订,但后来为了享受美国运通白金卡提供的2万日元旅行信用以及约700人民币的酒店消费额度,改为通过美国运通渠道重新预订。然而,尽管两个订单是不同的预订号码,酒店却在未经允许的情况下将两笔订单全部取消,而且费用已经扣除却没有退款。我是在偶然打电话咨询时才发现这一问题。如果没有主动联系,当天入住会发生什么真的难以想象。最终只能自己重新预订。
办理入住时,酒店不仅没有道歉,也没有承认错误,让人非常震惊。作为万豪白金会员,本应有升级机会,但不仅没有升级,还被安排在低楼层。最后酒店以补偿的形式提供了共计1000人民币的酒店消费额度,我接受了这一安排。
下午在酒店一楼餐厅用餐,点了伊比利亚猪肋排、海胆鱼子酱烩饭、牛尾汤和松露蘑菇汤,但上菜时间长达1小时20分钟。如果时间紧张,不建议在这里用餐。虽然是米其林餐厅,但味道只能说一般。不过服务态度还是不错的。由于等待时间过长,餐厅赠送了一个蛋糕(未品尝)。
晚上为了使用剩余额度,我们去了屋顶酒吧欣赏上海夜景。点了两杯鸡尾酒,总消费未超过230人民币,并照常记在房账。但回到房间后却接到酒吧电话,要求上去付款。这让人非常困惑,因为并未超出1000人民币额度。联系前台后,最初被告知已消费约730人民币,但在我指出额度问题后,对方重新核查并致电道歉,表示是员工输入错误,最终确认无需支付。
作为一家五星级酒店,这样频繁的失误实在难以接受。
不过,也有值得感谢的地方。一位女性工作人员在我手指受伤时,特意送来消毒棉签和创可贴,细心体贴,让人非常感动,在此表示衷心感谢。
早餐为点餐形式,种类较少,我没有吃太多,但虾饺味道不错。
这是一次为了纪念女儿毕业而特别安排的旅行,却留下了遗憾。"
