"THIS IS THE ONE, an elegant jungle getaway... but for us, THE WEDDING OF OUR DREAMS. Costa Rica is beautiful on its own, but there is something truly special about Amor Arenal. Waking up to the view of Arenal Volcano, even on days where the cloud covering only showed portions of it, and LITTERALLY surrounded by lush rainforest, colorful tropical flowers, the sounds of birds, and the occasional HOWLER MONKEY. The rooms are spacious, clean and romantic. Every corner of the property feels like you're tucked away in the middle of nature, yet somehow every inch of it is perfectly maintained. The grounds, the casitas, the pools...everything was absolutely spotless while still feeling authentic to the rainforest around it. Yes, the resort is beautiful, truly magical, I can't possible explain how beautiful this place is, but the staff is what really made it for us. You could tell they truly wanted every guest to have an incredible experience, and they made everyone feel welcome from the moment they arrived. A special thank you goes to MICHAEL, who became such an important part of our wedding weekend. No request was ever too big, and no challenge ever seemed to rattle him. He was calm, thoughtful, incredibly responsive, and always seemed to appear exactly when we needed him. You can tell he genuinely cares—not just about the resort, but about the people celebrating there. The staff members told me multiple times how EXCITED THEY WERE TO HAVE US. They mentioned throughout the 5 days how they had so much fun preparing the resort to receive us. One thing we appreciated so much was how seamlessly the Amor Arenal team worked alongside our wedding planner, Jennifer Hernandez Wedding & Events, and all of our vendors. There was never any feeling of "that's not our job" or unnecessary back-and-forth. Everyone worked together as one team, communicating behind the scenes so we never had to worry about a single detail. Watching so many different vendors operate so effortlessly together made the entire weekend feel easy—for us and for our guests. We rented out the entire resort for our wedding, and I'll admit, we hesitated at first because of the buyout fee. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions we made. & It was VERY reasonable in comparison with surrounding resorts we spoke with. The difference is hard to explain until you experience it. Instead of feeling like guests at a hotel, it felt like we had invited everyone into our own private paradise. Every one of our guests received personal attention, every familiar face around the resort was someone there celebrating with us, and the entire atmosphere became so much more intimate. And the food YESSSS!!!!!!!! Every meal was fantastic. Breakfast quickly became one of our favorite parts of the day, and throughout the weekend our guests couldn't stop talking about how good everything was. ESPECIALLY THE CEVICHE! The menus offered so much variety that everyone found something they loved, and every meal felt fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and worthy of the setting. We had guests with dietary restrictions, and they made sure to know as much of that as possible ahead of time, but very easily accommodated once we were there. By the end of the weekend, our guests were asking if there was a "return rate". They wanted to experience the magic of Amor Arenal again, and we cant wait to do the same! If you're considering staying here, do it. If you're considering hosting your wedding here, don't let the buyout fee scare you away. The experience of having the entire property become yours for a few unforgettable days is something we'll treasure forever."

The private jacuzzi became my happy place—I climbed in every single day, soaking in the warmth while listening to the sounds of nature all around us. Every meal was absolutely delicious, and booking our excursions through the hotel couldn’t have been easier. Everything was seamless, allowing us to focus on making memories together instead of worrying about the details. It’s hard to put into words what Amor Arenal gave us. It wasn’t just a beautiful place to stay—it became part of one of the most meaningful chapters of our lives. Honestly, I think Amor Arenal captured all the best parts of this concept. Walking the property's nature trails makes it obvious how much patience, effort, and vision went into reforesting this land. Far more than a five-star hotel, this passion project blends eco-luxury and love into a healing sanctuary that gives back to the local La Fortuna community. Rooms are called "casitas"—a sweet play to our local expression for "home." These warm, magical wood cabins are suspended over the jungle, floating right over the cloudy forest. They are so comfortable and peaceful that leaving your casita will almost be painful! As a chef, I always look for food made from scratch with a focus on local ingredients. From the brilliant Quinoa Pinto (a spin on our favorite Gallo Pinto) to the fresh salads, veggies, and proteins, they prove wellness is delicious while offering options for every lifestyle and dietary need. Don't miss the Pura Vida wet bar for an afternoon drink. Hands down, the coolest warm-water bar setting I've have experienced! The daily yoga, meditation, and mindfulness sessions take Zen to the next level. You are greeted by kind, smiling people, and the forest-view deck alone will make your stress evaporate! The spa offers incredible facials and ancestral rituals, personally recommend the hot stone massage for a total body and soul reboot. ¡Gracias por tanto amor, paz y pura vida!"
