"Stayed at the Grove during the Feb Half Term with our 5 year old. We had a room in the West Wing which felt a little dated but was decent enough. The housekeeping was a bit off. Eg. the card to be left on the bed for bedlinen to be changed was not in the room and therefore the linen wasn’t changed - we had to call housekeeping to enquire and they then left the card in the room the following day - not something you would expect from a hotel at this price point. What we also find was the corridors in the West Wing had ceilings with water leak marks on them and the ground floor with the conference facilities made the entire place feel outdated, soul-less and not worthy of its the 5 star rating. The Spa was large enough but I think the hotel should put up some signs that requests the Spa users from speaking loudly once they’re in. No one wants to endure 15 mins of loud conversation in the sauna about Magnet kitchens when they are trying to relax. The grounds are nice but again it was February so we can’t comment on how some of the outdoor facilities are in the warmer months. The half term activity offering for kids was OK, nothing too exciting. Our daughter did enjoy the buffet breakfast and the buffet dinner spread at the Glasshouse every day. The dessert offerings could do with an upgrade, though. Wouldn’t rate this as a 5 star luxury hotel based on our stay in the West Wing."

"We stayed here before moving to another country as it’s our favourite hotel and it did not disappoint. They upgraded from a normal room to a mansion room which was lovely (only complaint was that the air conditioning was noisy). The spa gave brilliant facial and massage as usual. The Glasshouse dinner and the Turkish restaurant were both incredible. We also ordered room service and I had a special request for some of the roast potatoes from the Glasshouse (pregnancy cravings) and I wasn’t expecting to get them because they weren’t on the menu and the Glasshouse is its own thing, but lo and behold they went and got me a massive bowl and satisfied my cravings!"

"Just everything was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, all of the staff were friendly, food, pool, rooms excellent, and this is every time we go. Going back to celebrate a birthday, as they made a previous celebration so special. Cant wait"

"We have enjoyed many lovely family trips to the Grove over the last 15 years. However, our recent trip with our two young children was unfortunately completely marred by the fact that they have a serious RAT infestation and are unwilling to address it properly. We saw over a dozen rats in the immediate surrounds of the hotel and two running around on the main restaurant terrace. We complained several times but were brushed off repeatedly and told by the duty manager that this was "normal" for the countryside. I asked to speak to the GM but I was told they were not available but that someone would follow up. Nobody contacted me. I called after I left and spoke to someone from the GM team. They acknowledged they have a major rat issue they are tyring to address but had not reported themselves to the council as they did not think it was necessary given they had not seen any rats inside the hotel. This was despite the fact that the restaurant doors were left open. I will be picking up with environmental health and suggest you avoid this hotel at all costs until they solve this issue."

"Booked The Stables for a birthday lunch on a Monday. Just a quiet celebration, 2 friends. Service was friendly & attentive, food was served quickly and they had a good choice. We chose the chicken Caesar burger which was very good. Panacotta for desert which was delicious. We really enjoyed our time here - it’s a lovely place and staff didn’t rush us and looked after us very well. Really enjoyable!"
