"The 1 Hotel Mayfair has been my go-to location for the past few months! I regularly travel to London for work, and find the location so very convenient to many restaurants and my office in St James. The spa is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the atmosphere is calming. I am also a big fan of the spa that has the best staff! Unfortunately, the property has some opportunities with customer experience. Imagine arriving after a long flight, only to be told, “Mr Benjamin, we would have loved to get you checked in early, but unfortunately we did not know you were arriving early and already gave away our available rooms.” This was frustrating, as both my assistant and I had personally spoke to the hotel in writing to let them know arrival time. Another staff member told me the agent, Keith, lied to me and that the request was notated on the reservation. This is my second negative experience with Keith, and might be a reason not to return. Next, I’ve noticed a decline in room cleanliness; with the carpets appearing to need cleaning. Here are a few pictures. Overall, stay here if the location works for your needs, but be prepared to need to advocate for yourself as the hotel won’t proactively advocate for you."
