PB hotel design editorial

Stratford's post-Olympic transformation produced some of London's more architecturally ambitious new builds, and the tower housing The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton sits among them with genuine conviction. Designed by architects Darling Associates, the fourteen-storey bronze-clad structure deploys a rhythmic grid of vertical fins across its glazed facade — visible in the images catching afternoon light as the building turns a warm copper against the surrounding residential blocks of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park neighbourhood. The effect is closer to a considered piece of urban infrastructure than the anonymous commercial architecture that typically frames new hotel developments. Inside, the design concept draws on the industrial heritage of the area — the cranes, the gantries, the mechanics of a working east London that preceded the Olympic makeover. Guest rooms carry this through in steel-framed luggage trunks used as bed benches, film-reel wall art, cage-style pendant lights, and oxidised copper wall panels flanking the headboards. The bar and restaurant level deploys a more saturated palette: oxidised steel columns, herringbone oak flooring, and a cluster of velvet tub chairs in mustard, teal, and crimson arranged around brass-edged tables beneath exposed track lighting. The rooftop dining space, glazed and planted with tropical palms, adds a travertine host desk and curved banquette seating that shifts the register upward — a counterpoint to the industrial vocabulary below that gives the hotel's 292 rooms a genuine sense of range.

"Wonderfully experience from Guest Manager (Andreea) to all colleagues on site. The check in was super nice, room excellent and breakfast spot on. 10/10. Next time we will book into their restaurant as the menu looked great. Highly recommended. Well done all. Mr Allen"

"The hotel is very smart and the rooms are spacious. The reception are has a cafe bar and the floot above has a restaurant with a delightful outdoor patio for warmer days. The indoor rooftop restaurant, on the 18th floor, has views over London and serves an excellent menu. Googlle maps gives a misleading impression of the location of the hotel (seemingly surrounded by railway lines). Yet, it has easy access via smart walkways to Stratford International DLR and Westfileld Shopping Mall with it streets full of restaurants. Travel to central London by tube is is easy. Travel to Stratford or Abba Arena is achieved via DLR in minutes."

"We had an amazing stay at The Gantry London hotel. With the DLR line (Stratford International station) just across the street, as well as the shopping mall of Stratford. The location is perfect. Hotel staff provided a warm welcome and was very friendly during our stay. The interior is very nice and every detail matches. There are plenty of food option around and at the hotel. We had a dinner and some drinks at the hotel restaurant Social Club and the breakfast (was well presented) was very delicous. Love to come back to this hotel."

"The Gantry is lovely. The Westfield Shopping Centre is across the way as well as the DLR Stratford International Train Station. There are easy train links to London City Airport and the city entre. You could save allot of money by staying here, especially if you are traveling with kids. I hope to return with my family for an overnight and do a museum tour."

"A fantastic stay at the Gantry I could not recommend this place enough. The location was perfect for our activities we had planned for the weekend. Room was spectacular, spotless with a view of Stratford skyline.we asked if there was availability on a high floor and Niv on reception kindly accommodated our request. Niv was professional and an asset to the Gantry’s team. We had lunch in the restaurant which was very good. An amazing stay thank you."
