"We were on a long drive through France and found Fleur de Loire through the Relais Chateau program and my what a lovely find it was! The service from start to finish was excellent. First touch with the valet made us feel welcome even in our sand-strewn car (we just drove 600km from the Mediterranean coast!). They helped us out, took our bags, parked the car and plugged it in overnight and all was taken care of. Reception was professional and helpful and all of the attention we received was with ease and friendliness. Our room was lovely and overlooked the river. Our bed was very luxurious getting lost in all the pillows. The bathroom was spacious with a good shower and large sinks with all the amenities including very comfortable robes and slippers in two sizes which was perfect. This is a proper oasis in the middle of Blois. There is a pool overlooking the riverside. The restaurants were stunningly good also with fabulous views. You are really spoiled in this little oasis and we will come back next year when we do our migration to the south coast again."

"Checked out this morning after 4 nights at La Fleur. The staff in all departments were outstanding but they are dealing with a problem they can not control. The air conditioning is totally inadequate! Despite comments that the French air systems are not as strong as the USA, we stayed in three other French country properties in the Loire and Burgundy and the A/C was just fine. we resorted to a fan in the $1000 suite to get some relief. The overall redo the property is very special but we stayed our first night in a duplex apartment (again about $1000/night] and found that although the bath and shower etc are on the second floor, the toilet is on the first floor. You need to walk down a flight of about 20 steps to find the toilet. In addition, there is no closet space for your clothes on the second floor, they need to be placed on the first floor near the toilet. all this for $1000 a night. Parking at 15 euro a day is petty. We found the buffet breakfast very French and quite good. We ate one night in non Michelin starred restaurant and found it excellent at reasonable prices and a competent, engaging and friendly wait team. The fact the building requires you to walk outside seems odd if the weather is less than good. Totally disappointed on what was presented versus what was promised for $1000 a night."

"To say this was a disappointment is an understatement. They say they are a spa hotel - yet their jacuzzi doesn’t work, no dry or wet sauna. Further, the air conditioner in our room wasn’t working so we didn’t sleep well at all. Had a massage and the entire massage there were people talking loud and drinking outside window the massage room. The indoor pool is great and the lady running the massage center and the massages is excellent."
