At 5 rue de la Paix, where Haussmann's Paris reaches its most composed expression — the column of the Place Vendôme visible at the end of the street, couture houses pressing close on either side — the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme was carved from a pair of late nineteenth-century Haussmannian buildings and opened in 2002, with interiors conceived by Ed Tuttle, the American designer long based in Paris whose work for Amanresorts had already established a vocabulary of deep material richness and architectural calm. The 153-room property spans seven floors, the limestone facade presenting the measured rhythm of arched windows, wrought-iron balconies, and rusticated stonework that the images confirm remains essentially intact. Inside, Tuttle's hand is unmistakable: gold-leaf wall panels framing deep mahogany headboards in the guestrooms, the warm amber of the suede-like wall coverings creating an interior atmosphere closer to a Rothko canvas than a conventional hotel palette. Bronze figurative sculptures appear throughout — flanking the entrance doors, mounted on guestroom walls, standing sentinel in the restaurant — as a curatorial thread linking the spaces. The restaurant visible in the images shows a dramatic faceted bar surround in polished wood and mirror, while the fine dining room centres on a circular banquette beneath a coffered rotunda of illuminated alabaster columns and leaf-shaped pendant lights, a composition that feels more Roman bathhouse than Parisian palace, and is more considered for it.

"After having a terrible time at CDG because AF lost our bags, we had an amazing start to our vacation at the Park Hyatt. Every staff member made us feel very welcome and personal. The facilities are in beautiful shape and I thought our room had excellent lighting which we worried about because of pictures we had seen (we had a balcony room). I thought we were treated well above average despite only holding low status with Hyatt. We will definitely return."

"This was a friends anniversary (40 years) and a cancer-survivors celebration. We had an absolutely outstanding time at the hotel. Every individual we encountered from reception to concierge to restaurant to spa to housekeeping was utterly professional and exceptionally kind and helpful. Rooms are spacious and beds are incredibly comfortable. If there was only one thing I would prefer to be different is not having an auto-charge minibar. We like to keep some medication and snacks in the cold and it was a bit awkward. But it did not detract from our stay at all! We would love to return!!"

From the moment I arrived, everything reflected true luxury—elegant design and refined atmosphere, and impeccable attention to detail throughout the hotel. What truly made the experience unforgettable, however, was the outstanding service. I would especially like to highlight Bertrand, one of the waiters, who went above and beyond in every possible way. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine warmth stood out immediately. He anticipated needs before they were even expressed and always served with a sincere smile. Bertrand embodies what true hospitality should be: attentive without being intrusive, friendly yet highly professional, and completely dedicated to ensuring guests have the best possible experience. Every member of the staff we encountered was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely attentive. No matter the request, they consistently made an effort to help with care and sincerity, which made us feel very well taken care of throughout our stay.
