That saffron-orange facade rising through a canopy of mature palms above the Gulf of Saint-Tropez has been a fixture of the Grimaud coastline since 1914, when architect Julien Flengenheimer completed Le Golf Hôtel as a Belle Époque palace for the Riviera's golden-season crowd. After sitting dormant since 2008, the building returned in April 2026 as COMO Le Beauvallon, restored across its 42 rooms by Paris-based interior designer Dorothée Delaye, whose work navigates carefully between the building's ornate structural inheritance and a palette of bleached linens, warm stone, and barely-there taupe that gives each room the calm of a well-edited private house. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass panels in the upper suites dissolve the boundary between bedroom and a colonnaded terrace, with the Gulf stretched flat and blue beyond — a brass telescope on a tripod positioned, with quiet confidence, to make the most of it. Delaye's touch extends to the grounds, where a long reflecting pool mirrors a cream-rendered pergola structure at dusk, its colonnade stepping down toward a teak-decked waterfront restaurant shaded by a slatted timber pergola directly over the bay. The ten-acre hillside estate adds considerable spatial breathing room rarely available on this stretch of coast. Most unexpectedly, the restoration incorporates over three hundred curated art works, among them Toyo Ito's 2002 Serpentine Gallery Summer Pavilion, which brings a genuine moment of architectural weight to what could easily have settled for atmospheric good looks alone.

"Great birthday dinner with 12pax at the beach club. Amazing food, great service and outstanding setting anyway. The entire team was incredibly friendly. The shared starters with home made dim sum and great sushi and all the fantastic little treats they had to offer. Main course also to share with outstanding beef with vegetables and seabass. All this followed by a crazy nice birthday cake … best birthday in the best place. Hope they remember me in the summer when this will be no doubt be the hottest ticket in town"

"What an absolutely sensational experience at COMO Le Beauvallon! From start to finish, this property delivered on every level — and then some. The dining was a true highlight. Chef Yannick Alléno’s cuisine is nothing short of extraordinary — every dish was a masterclass in flavour, precision, and creativity. Pair that with a service team that struck the perfect balance between attentive and effortless, and you have a hospitality experience that genuinely sets a new benchmark on the Côte d’Azur. The entire staff went above and beyond at every turn. The setting is simply breathtaking. Sweeping, postcard-perfect views over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez greet you at every corner of the estate, and the ambience throughout the hotel is pure understated elegance — refined, warm, and quietly glamorous. The Beach Club is in a league of its own: stylish, lively, and with that unmistakable Riviera magic. The complimentary boat shuttle to Saint-Tropez is perfect as well — just minutes across the bay and you’re in the heart of the action, then back to your private oasis whenever you please. And for golf lovers like myself, having the beautiful Golf de Beauvallon-Grimaud course within walking distance is the cherry on top. If you’re looking for a high-end Saint-Tropez experience that feels more discovery than destination, COMO Le Beauvallon is the place. A true “Geheimtipp” — though I suspect not for much longer. I will return soonest!"
