"Will start by saying that I would definitely return to this hotel, we had a great time. The location is stunning, two lovely pools, great food and really lovely staff who are more than happy to help and give recommendations. The room was always clean and despite other hotels nearby you couldn’t hear a thing once inside. I didn’t understand the complaints about food it was varied and of a good quality (I’m fussy) albeit some live cooking wouldn’t go amiss. The outdoor cinema was a great touch, really enjoyed that and loved that although the bar had music on, you couldn’t hear it. The live singer and saxophonist by the pool during the day were both great. Highly recommend the Angus burger from the pool bar too, was fab! The vibe and aesthetic of the hotel is really lovely and I loved the idea of having a quiet pool which genuinely is quiet and peaceful. The spa is also lovely and the complimentary treatment was much appreciated. However, there were definitely a few downsides for us. We were notified by a waiter on our first day that your own drinks are not allowed and these must be hidden at all times. It did feel like we were being told off a bit and not everyone seemed to be pulled up on it. This apparently is due to Greek law (haven’t had previously in Greece). Drinks consumed must be from the hotel, I can understand for cocktails and even soft drinks but for water this seems odd. The drinks are pretty expensive (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and water 4x the price of the local shop, same with a can of coke c.€1 at the shop vs. €4.50 at the hotel. The view from our balcony was pretty disappointing (room 2108), we hadn’t booked the cheapest room and yet the balcony overlooked the car park and side of the building with a small peak of the quiet pool. Initially I wasn’t overly bothered as we tend to not sit on the balcony but one night decided to and it was extremely loud with the passing traffic which was annoying and meant we didn’t sit out there for very long. I was slightly surprised to see two girls (aged about 9/10) at the hotel too given its adults only. In all fairness they weren’t noisy etc but it did seem a bit odd. It’s unclear in the room that the small bottles of water are free to be taken as they are by the coffee machine which is charged, it would be good if these were labelled as complimentary. The city tax seems quite expensive (€15) a day and it would’ve been good to be notified of this at check-in. Equally, you can’t put anything against the room unless reception have loaded money onto your card which was a bit annoying if you wanted to leave the restaurant. Despite the downsides we definitely would return and loved our stay."

"We had a fantastic experience at Numo Ierapetra, where my husband and I spent a wonderfully relaxing weekend. From the moment we arrived, we loved the peaceful ambience of the resort. Being adults-only adds to the sense of tranquillity, making it a perfect place for a couples’ getaway. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch, and the spa massage was a real highlight. A special mention to Fai, who was an excellent masseuse and made the experience particularly enjoyable and relaxing. The resort has a beautiful main pool area, while the quiet-zone pool is located in a separate, more secluded part of the property, offering an even more peaceful space to unwind. The beach area is also wonderful and provides another beautiful spot to relax by the sea. Overall, NUMO Ierapetra offers everything you could want for a relaxing escape as a couple: a gorgeous setting, excellent food, a lovely spa, beautiful pools and a fantastic beach. We had a wonderful time and would definitely love to return."

"NUMO Ierapetra is a true South Cretan oasis — a beautiful and relaxing escape where everything feels effortlessly close. I loved how practical the setting is, with the pool and the sea literally side by side, making it so easy to enjoy both throughout the day. The food is fantastic, especially the octopus and the Beluga salad — absolute highlights. The couples massage was also one of the best massage experiences I’ve had, despite having tried many over the years. Inside tip: bring your snorkeling gear — the sea around NUMO has some fantastic fish and is a little underwater surprise waiting to be explored. 🐠"

"The Numo Ierapetra has so much going for it that it is almost frustrating to find one weak spot. In almost every respect, this feels like a true five-star hotel — I’d happily rate the overall experience 9/10. The location is fantastic, the property itself is beautiful and impeccably clean, and the pools, beach and spectacular sunsets are simply wonderful. But what really makes the place stand out is the staff. They are exceptional: genuinely warm, consistently helpful and always happy to go the extra mile. Their recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities were also spot-on and made exploring the area even more enjoyable. What’s not to love? Unfortunately, there is a noticeable gap between the quality of the hotel itself and its catering, and that contrast is what makes the restaurant experience particularly disappointing. Breakfast is probably the biggest missed opportunity. There are a couple of rather industrial-tasting juices, no egg station, and the scrambled eggs and pancakes were consistently dry. Dinner was much the same. The salad bar was lovely and fresh, but beyond that, the food felt underwhelming and, once again, the industrial-style desserts really didn’t feel in keeping with the standard of a five-star property. And that’s the shame: the setting, service, cleanliness, facilities and staff are all genuinely excellent. The hotel has all the ingredients for an outstanding stay, but the food simply doesn’t live up to the rest. It’s still a beautiful place with exceptional people, and I would happily return for the hotel, beach, pools and atmosphere. But improving the catering would make a huge difference and bring the whole experience up to the level it deserves."
