Against the rust-red escarpment above Panormo on Crete's northern coast, a cascade of white cubic volumes steps down toward the sea in a formation that owes as much to the massing logic of a Minoan hillside settlement as it does to contemporary resort architecture. The Royal Senses Resort & Spa Crete, a Curio Collection by Hilton property, arranges its terraced wings so that each tier claims an unobstructed sightline over the Aegean, dry-stone retaining walls in local limestone anchoring the lower terraces and mature olive trees placed at intervals that soften the geometry without disguising it. The exterior palette — warm plaster, dark walnut timber brise-soleils, and the iron-grey of polished concrete — pulls the building into its volcanic landscape rather than setting it apart. Inside, the rooms shift register toward something quieter and more considered: linen-wrapped sliding panels in dark walnut frames partition the sleeping areas from the balcony in a gesture that carries a faint Japanese inflection, while built-in joinery in bleached oak and textured woven inserts keeps the material language grounded in the Mediterranean. The outdoor dining terrace deploys cast concrete water features flush with the floor plane, teak and woven-strap armchairs arranged around drum-base tables, a woven reed ceiling overhead diffusing the last of the evening light. At the main pool, sheer linen cabana curtains frame a long infinity-edge composition with palm silhouettes beyond — understated in ambition, precisely calibrated in execution.

"Just returned from a brilliant week stay at the Royal Senses and have nothing but praise for this fantastically welcoming and beautiful hotel and spa. Our family group ( 2 adults, 1 x 14yr, 1 x 10yr) were all wonderfully catered for from the exceptional food, elegant rooms, stunning pools (including high quality loungers!) and luxury spa treatments. We arrived around midnight and received a warm welcome from reception with a delicious and thoughtful selection of drinks and snacks ready for us in our beautiful room. Our stay continued in much the same way with super helpful and friendly staff, excellent food and a truly relaxing experience. My daughter (14yrs) and I had wonderful treatments in the spa and being able to share this was really special ( under 18’s can have same treatments when in a shared room with a parent). Our anniversary fell whilst we were staying at the hotel and we were treated to a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and chocolate mousse cake in our room, a lovely touch and much appreciated. The water slides are not the main event at this hotel ( which was exactly what we’d hoped) but were a great addition to our 10yr olds day. It’s definitely a family friendly hotel but doesn’t lose any of the luxury in being so - for us, we felt Royal Senses hit the balance just right. We were upgraded to a Royal Senses villa with its own infinity pool for the last 2 days, a real treat and a fabulous end to a wonderful holiday. Well done and many thanks to all the team and management at Royal Senses"

"✨ Resort Review: The Royal Senses Resort & Spa, Crete ✨ If you're looking for a luxury family getaway in Crete, this resort is definitely worth considering. 🤍 From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well taken care of. The resort is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and the staff made us feel right at home. 🏖️ What we loved: • Stunning sea views • Spacious, modern rooms • Family-friendly atmosphere • Excellent service • Beautiful pools and plenty of space to relax 🍽️ Food & Drinks The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start your day. We stayed on a half-board basis, which gave us the flexibility to enjoy breakfast at the resort and explore local restaurants for lunch. Dinner was varied, fresh, and there was something for everyone—including kids. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with a touch of luxury. ⭐ Our rating: 9.5/10 Would we come back?
