PB hotel design editorial

Cascading down an olive-studded hillside above the Aegean at Ouranoupolis — the last Greek town before the monastic peninsula of Mount Athos begins — Eagles Villas arranges its whitewashed volumes in a loose terraced formation that borrows from the vernacular logic of a Greek hillside village without reproducing it literally. The aerial view confirms the strategy: discrete villa structures step down the slope toward the water, each with its own private pool deck, the whole composition threaded together by landscaped pathways and low stone walls that anchor the buildings to the terrain rather than imposing on it. The Sporades islands float in the middle distance, framed differently from every terrace. Inside, the interiors move between two registers. The villa rooms favor a pared-back Aegean palette — white walls, pale limestone floors, natural linen, ash-toned timber joinery — with full-width sliding glazed doors that dissolve the boundary between bedroom and deck. A second room type introduces a more graphic sensibility: a monochrome geometric headboard wall, louvered wardrobe panels, and accents of Aegean blue on a bench end and scatter cushions, the effect closer to a considered boutique hotel than a resort suite. The beachside restaurant completes the picture in the most direct way possible: white-painted timber pergola structure, rush-seated chairs, woven rattan lanterns, and straw parasols standing at the water's edge, with nothing between the dining table and the open sea.

"Stayed a week at this amazing resort. Stayed in one of the villas with private pool. The villa was top drawer and had everything you would need during your luxury stay.99% of the staff are incredible, always smiling and they were helpful, informative and friendly from the cleaner to the pool boy. We went all inclusive ‘Bon vivant’ which allowed us to use all of the restaurants on site along with drinks throughout the day. Not cheap but over the week well worth the added expense. The 5 or 6 restaurants on site offered a variety of options from buffet to Michelin star. We tried all bar the buffet and all were very good. However, after a week or so we really fancied something a little bit different …..maybe something like a sushi bar or perhaps even a high end Asian influenced fusion restaurant would be a wonderful addition and would I am sure become a very popular choice. As mentioned earlier the majority of the staff at this hotel really make a difference. The only slight disappointment I would say was our spa experience. The treatments themselves were fine it was just that most of the staff ( not all) seemed a bit disorganised, distracted and uninterested. Because of this we only used the spa once during our stay rather than a number of times which we would normally look to do. Maybe it was just a bad day! Overall very much recommend you consider staying at this resort. Certainly not a cheap option but quality comes at a cost!! Everything you need is here from fabulous rooms, great food, friendly staff and I haven’t even mentioned the stunning beach. Come visit."

"Our second visit to the Eagles resort. This time we were fortunate to stay in Eagles Villas (whereas we stayed in the hotel in 2018). This trip surpassed our already high expectations. As coincidence would have, we knew Vasilis, the General Manager, from his time at Lesante Cape on Zakythnos. It was reassuring to see him regularly walking the grounds, ensuring standards are being maintained and chatting with guests to ensure everything is going well with their stay. I think attracting him from Lesante to Eagles is a big win for the hotel. This high level of service and focus on guest comfort permeates the entire resort. Nothing is too much trouble, from the always welcoming staff at both the Hotel and Villas receptions through to those driving the golf carts who are always ready to transfer guest to / from the Villas at a moment's notice. In addition, the food was excellent in all restaurants, with all providing a wide range of options and generous servings. Our villa, 502, was exceptional. There are genuinely no areas in which our stay could have been improved... and were it not for the BA return flight being delayed for over 10 hours (!) it would have been the most perfect of holidays from the start to the very end!"

"Our stay at Eagles Palace & Eagles Villas was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every detail exceeded our expectations. The location is simply breathtaking. The beach is truly a dream, with crystal-clear water and an atmosphere of complete relaxation. The hotel enjoys a perfect beachfront setting, while the villas, nestled slightly higher on the hillside, offer privacy, tranquility and spectacular views. The attention to detail was evident everywhere. The resort was impeccably clean at all times, beautifully maintained and exceptionally peaceful. The calm atmosphere, combined with the outstanding service and breathtaking surroundings, created the perfect setting for a truly luxurious and relaxing holida What made this experience even more special was the exceptional team. Every single member of the staff was genuinely kind, professional and attentive. No request was ever too much, and everything we needed was taken care of immediately, always with a warm smile. A very special thank you goes to Ioanna Arvanitou, Guest Experience Manager. She is truly an exceptional person, and we feel incredibly grateful to have met her. She orchestrated every detail of our stay with such care and professionalism, making everything feel effortless. For my birthday, she surprised us with the most wonderful gift: a sunset cruise, during which we were lucky enough to see dolphins in their natural habitat. It was a magical experience and undoubtedly one of the most unforgettable moments of our vacation. The restaurants deserve every compliment. The service was impeccable, and every meal was a delight. Our favorites were Kamares, with its outstanding cuisine and breathtaking views, and Vinum, where every dish was absolutely delicious. We were also traveling with our dog, who is a beloved member of our family, and we truly appreciated how warmly he was welcomed. Finding a luxury resort that is genuinely pet-friendly and makes four-legged guests feel just as welcome is something very special. Eagles Palace is much more than a beautiful resort—it is a place where genuine hospitality, luxury and attention to detail come together to create unforgettable memories. Without a doubt, we will be back. Next time, we’ll return with an even bigger group, bringing our family with us to experience this little piece of paradise. Thank you to everyone at Eagles Palace & Eagles Villas for giving us a vacation we will never forget. We cannot wait to return.❤️"

"We had the most amazing stay at the Eagles Resort in Halkidiki. The staff were amazing. Every single member of staff no matter their role were so friendly and helpful with a sincere genuine feel. A special mention to the wonderful hotel manager and the delightful Elissavet the executive concierge who organised everything for us. We stayed in 2 of the villas. On arrival to our villas we were overwhelmed with the beauty. The views were stunning, the accommodation beautiful, clean and very spacious (a pool on the balcony), fresh flowers, fruit, sweet treats and a bottle of bubbles. We ate in two of the restaurants (the fish restaurant on the beach and the Michelin star restaurant) both were absolutely delightful and the staff were wonderful, so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was amazing. We went on a boat trip for the day with Captain Vassilis, who was an absolute gem taking us to lots of different beautiful bays for a swim, a floating bar and even taking us to see some dolphins. The atmosphere at the resort was peaceful and relaxed despite the hotel and villas being almost fully booked. The private beach was beautiful and sandy with ample sun beds and the option to paddle board or pedalo. The water was calm and crystal clear. There were also golf buggies to take you wherever you wanted to go in the resort. We ventured into the local village for a meal, a short drive in the shuttle bus that was run by the hotel, and ate in a lovely restaurant ( Kritikos) recommended by Elissavet, Although we did not have children with us, I noticed a kids club which was beautiful, clean and inviting with lovely wooden toys and outdoor space with shade. Honestly I could not fault anything about our stay here, it was an incredibly special break for five school friends celebrating their 50th birthdays."

"Not in walking distance to any village, however, there are free shuttle buses to the nearest village Ouranoupolis in the evening, although limited times, these were very useful, taxis are obviously available for around 20 euro each way. We had a lovely villa for 2, really comfy bed, plenty of room and loads of wardrobe space, which is always a plus for me, small plunge pool, ok ours was tucked away without a view, but our garden did provide peace, privacy and quiet. The pool man came daily, our room was serviced daily by the loveliest of staff, shame I don’t know their names, but delightful and hard working. We ate 3 times in the restaurants, although we enjoyed them we personally found the menus limiting, but this was our personal choice. The breakfast was great, a comprehensive buffet along with à la carte choice too, excellent service, the staff were brilliant and keen to please. Plenty of beds on the beach, the pools were popular with families with small children. The whole place seemed popular with families and children, so we welcomed an area of beach that was the ‘quiet’ zone, doesn’t say no children etc, but it’s nice to respect other people’s quiet time. There is an area of beach allocated to the villas, but for us, the beds weren’t as comfortable as you can’t adjust the height, but still, nice touch. Lunch at the beach bar was always popular, great food and lovely friendly staff. The whole resort is on hills, therefore buggy style transport is available on request if needed. All in all, a lovely relaxing stay, nothing bad to say really."
