Terraced into the maquis-covered hillside above Spartia on Kefalonia's southwestern coast, where the land breaks sharply toward the Ionian Sea, Eliamos Villas Hotel & Spa arranges its whitewashed villa volumes in a loose cascade that follows the natural contours of the slope rather than imposing order upon them. From above, the terracotta-tiled rooftops and low stone walls dissolve into the surrounding olive groves and pine, each villa claiming its own private pool and uninterrupted sightline to the water below — a compositional logic closer to a Cephalonian hillside village than a conventional resort plan. Inside, the interiors pursue a form of edited rusticity that feels genuinely considered rather than assembled from a Mediterranean mood board. Exposed timber ceiling beams, stone-tile flooring in warm limestone tones, and grain-heavy oak joinery on wardrobes and vanity units establish the material framework, while the decorative choices — woven basket wall panels, rattan pendant lights, linen bedding in undyed sand and clay tones, low open-frame chairs in natural wood — layer texture without crowding the space. The restaurant carries the same sensibility upward into a pitched roof structure of rough-hewn pine rafters, open to a terrace on one side and anchored by a curved plaster bar and wicker dining chairs. Throughout, the approach is consistent: Ionian vernacular reinterpreted with enough restraint to let the landscape, visible from almost every room, hold the strongest claim on the eye.

"What a wonderful place. So incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful accommodations with private plunge pool (not heated), outdoor and indoor showers, and incredible sea views. Staff were lovely and so attuned to our needs - from little things like drawing a specific window shade at the restaurant when they noticed the sun shining on me to making lists of places for us to visit around Greece when they heard about our onward trip itinerary. Details were perfection - and this is rare to find these days. Food was very fresh and good. You feel like you’re at the end of the world here (the roads are an adventure) - it’s so worth making the trek."

"It was our first visit to Eliamos Villas Hotel & Spa and indeed Kefalonia and we loved all of it. Our one bedroom suite was delighful and the view over our infinity of the coast beyond was stunning. It was our minimoon following our wedding and we just relaxed - an easy thing to do there. We stayed in the Ammos seaview suite with private pool and it was just perfect. Through the hotel we arranged a private tour of the island with Mr Dennis, who was delightful and very knowledgeable about the island. We loved it so much we've booked to go back for our anniversary. It really is a lovely place to stay and the staff are so friendly and helpful."

"Eliamos Hotel and spa is a very special place. The villas are luxurious and of a very high standard. The location is tranquil and peaceful. The experience was made extra special by the excellent early morning Pilates and optional personal training sessions provided by Dimitris. He is a very professional, personable and knowledgable coach who is able to work with people of all abilities. It was this experience each day that made this a stand out holiday!"
