PB hotel design editorial

Milos was always the Cyclades' quieter proposition — volcanic, lunar, its coastline more dramatic than any other island in the group, yet long resistant to the resort development that remade Mykonos and Santorini. Domes White Coast Milos, positioned along the raw shoreline near Mytakas, works with that resistance rather than against it, its low-slung whitewashed volumes arranged across the hillside in a geometry that borrows the massing logic of Cycladic vernacular architecture while stripping it to something closer to pure abstraction. The stacked cubic forms, flat rooflines, and rendered plaster facades visible at dusk carry the feeling of a village that has been edited rather than invented, the warm amber glow of interior light pressing through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass where traditional apertures would once have been punched through thick stone walls. Inside, the palette runs a disciplined course through limestone, warm-toned timber millwork, and textured linen — surfaces that absorb light rather than reflect it, keeping the Aegean framed in the glazed openings as the dominant visual event. Bedrooms give directly onto private terraces or plunge pools, the bathroom zone left partially open to the sleeping area in a spatial move common to the better contemporary Greek resort. The restaurant pergola, roofed in split-reed matting and supported on dark steel columns, anchors the outdoor dining terrace with material warmth that counters the property's more minimal impulses, cane-back timber chairs pulled up to a solid wood table set against an unbroken horizon of Aegean blue.

Domes White Coast Milos Reviews

"I was super excited once we booked a reservation here for August 2026 and thought the fact that they stopped taking any bookings shortly after showed how in demand it was. Then I noticed reviewers here reporting cancelled reservations due to renovations. Then I saw the news articles about renovations being halted earlier this year and mentions online of the resort being closed until June 30. Just called and they now say renovations will keep them closed until end of July…despite all this, their Instagram posts almost daily photos of the resort open…not wanting to be left in the lurch, I just canceled and rebooked elsewhere. Be warned…"

"We booked in January to stay at this resort, only to have our booking cancelled a couple of weeks ago and were sent a very impersonal message to share this frustrating information. Only when we followed up did they disclose this was due to building works being delayed. They suggested an alternative property which would have seen us downgrade from a room with private pool - one of our main preferences, to a classic room and this was also the other side of the island with no sunset and at a substandard property in comparison. To find out this information two months before our upcoming holiday was incredibly frustrating as 98% of equivalent rooms and properties are naturally fully booked. We have now had to change our plans and go to another island entirely to find a suitable accommodation alternative. This is not luxury service, we will never book with this chain again and frankly it is shocking a customer can be treated like this at such short notice without compensation. Holidays are meant to be relaxing, not stressful before you even get there. Very disappointing."

"We had an upcoming reservation at Domes White Coast Milos in June 2026 and they informed us that they are unable to accommodate us due to pending construction. Eugenia and Olga from the Domes team went out of their way to find us a replacement property and were going to pay the difference themselves on something even more expensive than we had originally booked. They also gave us a list of recommendations. We have stayed at the Domes in Crete and Corfu and they are a class act! Thank you to the Domes organization. John Kallergis"

"We had an ocean view sunset suite and it was outstanding. The plunge pool was big and always cleaned, and we enjoyed returning from a day out at the beach to our glorious view for sunset. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the concierge was helpful. The bartender was wonderful and very eager to make guests a custom drink. There is a lack of amenities for a five star hotel, but perhaps those are coming with the new construction. MIlos itself is a dream, and this hotel offered a nice respite from the tourism in August. I would only advise that more hotel activities take place (more than one night of live music, a bar that stays open a little later, perhaps a connection with a beach club), to make the stay truly five star."
