PB hotel design editorial

Perched above Mykonos Town on Rohari Hill, where the island's cubic vernacular tumbles down toward the Aegean in a cascade of whitewashed volumes, the Belvedere Hotel has spent two decades refining what it means to take that local architectural language seriously rather than merely borrowing its palette. The property, which counts around 45 rooms and suites spread across interconnected Cycladic structures, was redesigned in the early 2000s with interiors that layer local marble flooring, white-painted timber beam ceilings, and dark walnut cabinetry into a vocabulary that feels considered rather than postcard-ready — Greek minimalism inflected with a cooler, more international sensibility. The images confirm how precisely that balance holds. Guest rooms keep almost everything white — linens, rendered walls, sheer curtains catching sea light — while warm walnut drawer units and teak balcony furniture introduce grain and weight without disturbing the calm. The rooftop bar, draped in cascading bougainvillea and furnished with curved caramel leather banquettes and filigree globe pendants, transforms at dusk into something closer to a garden folly than a hotel amenity. Down at pool level, a turquoise canvas awning shelters the bar counter, its pop of saturated colour a knowing counterpoint to all that white stucco above. The effect is of a place that has absorbed Mykonos's energy without surrendering to its excesses.

"The Belvedere Hotel is an architectural gem on the most beautiful island of the Cyclades offering breathtaking views over Mykonos’ Chora. It is an oasis of elegance, a summer paradise that we have been visiting consistently for the last 10 years as a family always feeling at home and the Belvedere team as part of our family. The unparalleled care begins at our arrival always with a warm and sincere smile with the joy of each time reconnecting. Communication at all levels with the Belvedere team is characterized by natural kindness and personalized high-level services that are simultaneously possessed of emotional warmth and empathy. The Belvedere team knows how to give value to the short and at the same time precious time of holidays effortlessly and discreetly honoring the guests. Looking back on the time we have great family memories, we have celebrated birthdays and name days, we have spent wonderful evenings with friends, and I sincerely hope that we will return back to Belvedere and our Friends every summer."

"When you book a Leading Hotel of the World property you expect high standards. This isn’t it. I hate to leave a review like this but I would want to know all of this ahead of booking this hotel. We stayed in the Hilltop suites, about 250 meters from the main hotel. The rooms are lovely and clean and large so that’s why we booked this area.l and not the main hotel. We were told that it’s an easy walk to the main hotel and easy to get between the two areas to use the pool and the restaurants. That is not the case. They do have drivers but you do have to wait around for them. They made it seem like it was so easy to get around the property. Also, they really want/prefer for the hilltop guests to use the amenities that are in the hilltop area. But the problem with that is the pool they provide is super small, no bar tender on duty and no views. If you lie on a sun bed at this small pool your view is of a giant shrub, So the main pool area - there are minimal day beds - and its first come first serve, even for non-hotel guests. We weren’t able to sit at the pool because of this. Also it’s just got a great pool. It’s small, and everything feels on top of each other. Instead of lying at their pool I highly recommend booking beach clubs and don’t even waste your time at the pool. Also, once you leave - if you have questions about your bill - they do not reply to your emails or calls. The operation here is truly to get your money and that’s it. I will say Alex was such a lovely driver and Marianna was amazing as well at concierge. Christina also at the hilltop upgraded our room which was much appreciated. But honestly. This should nkt be a LHW property and absolutely is not 5 star. It’s a 4 star hotel."

"I recently stayed at the Belvedere Hotel in Mykonos, and it was a lovely experience. I had the opportunity to enjoy both the Royal Suite and the Spectacular Panoramic View Room. Both were spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with perfect climate control to keep me relaxed throughout my stay. While I did encounter some minor issues, such as early morning light coming through the blackout curtains, and a menu that lacked healthier dining options, overall, my stay was enjoyable. The gym was fantastic, well-equipped with a range of machines, and the hotel staff were consistently helpful and kind, making my experience even better. The hotel’s restaurant offered delicious food, and although I would have appreciated more variety in healthy options, it didn’t detract from the overall quality of the stay. I look forward to returning to the Belvedere Hotel for another wonderful stay in Mykonos"

"Belvedere Mykonos Hill Top suites have the BEST VIEWS anywhere in Mykonos! Their staff is super friendly and incredibly helpful. The driver Pedros, he is a dream to be accommodated by. Pedros bends over backwards for you, more than he should. It is his kind nature. What an incredible employee. Please give Pedros a raise! He deserves it!! The walk to the hill top part is quite treacherous as the roads are unfinished and have large spaces in between the cement that I cannot wear high heels on. Pedros drove us up and down Multiple times a day and was always just 2min away. The room itself was lovely with a huge terrace that fit a couch and a 6 person table & chairs. It is very light in the room, so clean and fresh. The pools are exceptionally clean. Word to the wise, there is a mini pool at the hill top suites where-as the larger pool is down at the regular part of the hotel where you do not need to be driven to go to the pool each time. Beds are firm but not too firm. Bathroom was kind of small for a suite but the view made up for that. Christina the manager at the hill top belvedere, she was more than helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. She had fresh fruit upon arrival, an assortment. It is very close to everything, we could not have picked a better spot to be in. The only other better spot would be somewhere near the ocean which really would have not much of a view since it is at the bottom of the hill. Being at the top of the hill allowed for an enormous view of the entire city. AC works incredibly well. You will not sweat."
