PB hotel design editorial

Cascading down the hillside above Platis Gialos in a sequence of whitewashed terraces that mirror the Cycladic vernacular of the village below, the Myconian Ambassador translates a deeply local architectural grammar into something considerably more precise. The property steps toward the Aegean in planes of rendered white concrete, each level claiming its own pool or sun terrace, the geometry softened only by the occasional stone pine and a gravel surface of white Mykonian pebble. That terracing, visible in the images as a stacked series of infinity-edged pools dropping toward the sea, gives the hotel its most distinctive formal quality — less a building encountered at once than a landscape unfolded in stages. The interiors apply the same restraint with slightly more warmth. Rooms are almost entirely white — polished plaster walls, white-lacquered furniture, Volakas marble in the open-plan bathrooms — with teal and indigo cushions in geometric patterns providing the only sustained note of colour, a reference to the Aegean itself rather than any decorative conceit. Freestanding soaking tubs sit behind full-height glass partitions that dissolve the boundary between bathroom and bedroom, while watercolour canvases in oceanic blues hang above the beds like framed views. The restaurant extends the language outward: raw island stonework against mirrored wall panels and white pergola beams, the Aegean coastline doubling in reflection as dusk turns the horizon electric blue.

"We made our Myconian Ambassador Hotel Relais & Chateaux reservation through AMEX travel and it was an excellent decision. This hotel is truly a five star hotel. From the moment we arrived we were treated really well until our checkout date. We had a sea view room with a private jacuzzi and we enjoyed ever moment of it. The staff is super friendly, respectful and helpful. They took care of all our needs and made great recommendations. They arranged for our pick up from port and our departure at Mykonos Airport. Kudos to housekeeping staff, Kostas, Sophia and Sergio who provided an outstanding service. I am more of a sightseeing and adventurer; however, this hotel has a great pool and we spent almost two full days by the pool and needless to say the service was superb. The daily breakfast buffet offered a great selection and it also included a made to order breakfast menu. This hotel is almost 10 kilometers away from Mykonos town, however, the hotel staff arrange for your trip to and back from town"

"Hi, hello, I'm staying at the hotel.. and I have to tell all the Israelis who come, there are a lot of lies.... and I'll tell you the experience. We've been here for three nights. 1. The electricity keeps going out all day. 2. The air conditioner in the room makes a terrible noise. 3. Room service orders. The employee just opened the door without knocking on the door... The amount is disappointing. I'll market this to Israelis who knew not to come near. 706 room"

"We had the absolute best time at Myconian Ambassador and can't thank the staff enough for making our trip exceptional. We were lucky enough to have a suite with a private pool which was spotless and cleaned thoroughly each day. It was just the best place to chill with the most wonderful views over the bay. The communal pool area was incredibly relaxed with background music and staff constantly available to serve you drinks and food by the pool. They even came round and cleaned your glasses for you each day with the offer of free ice pops and drinks at certain times of the day which was a nice touch. The food was great. Amazing breakfast included in the price (although it wasn't a cheap hotel to be fair!!!) and great food in the main restaurant or the beach bar. All of the staff were super welcoming and helpful but a special mention has to go to Kostas, their concierge, who was an absolute delight to deal with."

"From the moment we arrived it was clear that this hotel sets the standard for genuine luxury hospitality. Extraordinary level of service. The entire team was consistently warm, attentive and genuinely committed to ensuring our stay was perfect. I would like to extend a very special thank you to Sophie for her exceptional care. The hotel’s location is excellent and conveniently close to major spots. We found the atmosphere to be elegant, welcoming, and tranquil—the perfect environment to return to after long days of sightseeing and activities. We give our experience 5 out of 5 stars! Thank you again for an unforgettable stay!"
