PB hotel design editorial

Perched above Elia Beach on Mykonos's southeastern coast, where the island's rocky spine drops toward one of its longest and most sheltered bays, the Myconian Imperial Resort works through a productive tension between the island's whitewashed vernacular and a more muscular architectural language drawn from the landscape itself. Dry-stone walls in the Cycladic tradition anchor the terraced pool and dining structures to the hillside, while the upper volumes shift toward steel and glass — the combination visible in the evening shots, where backlit expanded-metal mesh panels glow amber against white plaster and the infinity pool refracts its lighting into violet across the water below. The interiors move between two registers. Standard rooms are stripped to near-total white — honed grey tile floors, ribbed upholstered headboards, slatted bench seating and round side tables in chalk-painted timber, everything subordinated to the Aegean framing of the glazed terrace door. The suites introduce warmer materials: bronze-toned expanded steel mesh on sliding barn-door room dividers, backlit and industrial in feeling, with cobalt-upholstered armchairs and raw-edged artwork introducing colour against the white ground. Outside, the restaurant terraces are furnished with dark forest-green velvet chairs at walnut-topped tables, prickly pear cacti standing in for conventional planting, and illuminated sculptural trees casting soft light across stone retaining walls as the Aegean darkens behind Elia's headland.

"Absolute amazing time at the Royal Myconian and Mykonos! Hotel staff were kind, caring, friendly, and attentive to all our needs! Fantastic rooms with amazing views of the bay. We came for a wedding and every event was stunning in both presentation and delivery. My only hope is the next time we visit they have a golf cart to chauffeur us up the hill from the beach, the journey is quite steep."

"This was an exceptional property and a true five star plus experience. From a warm welcome and early check-in, to one of the most extravagant buffet brunches and beautiful pool and beach experiences, it lived up to the Myconian reputation for top quality. Our room was beautifully appointed. Poolside food and bar service was wonderful as was daytime DJ. Offered a very convenient shuttle to and from Mykonos town. Definitely recommend this hotel."

"This hotel was incredible from the moment you checked in until you leave the entire staff was so friendly and helpful ( especially Anna ). They cater to your every need . The restaurant is great and especially the smashing of the plates was something I never experienced before . The pool are was beautiful and everything was so clean . I wish I remembered the names of some of the other staff members because they were all amazing . They have a shuttle bus that takes you downtown free of charge .If I every go back to Greece I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It definitely did not disappoint."

"We stayed at the Royal Myconian end of September to early October and had such an amazing time. The hotel is stunning, very clean, and has everything you could want. They have lovely boutique shops, great pools, and a beautiful spa. The decor is gorgeous and the whole place just feels relaxing and welcoming. I really want to mention Jack at the front desk. He was brilliant from start to finish. He was super friendly, helpful, and just a genuinely nice person. He helped us with a late check-out when we had a late flight, sorted it all out with no stress, and made everything that much easier for us. He honestly made a big difference to our stay. Our room had a private jacuzzi and an amazing view. It was clean and comfortable. The only small things I would change are having a bit more storage for clothes and a coffee machine or kettle for making hot drinks. Not a big deal, it didn’t affect how much we enjoyed our stay. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach (there is a steep climb of stairs between the hotel and the beach) and to Mykonos Town, which was super handy. When the times didn’t quite work for us, the staff were happy to arrange a taxi instead. Overall, we absolutely loved it here. Beautiful hotel, great facilities, and wonderful staff. Would definitely stay again!"
