PB hotel design editorial

Sitting above the arc of Megali Ammos beach, where the hillside drops toward one of Mykonos Town's closest stretches of sand, Myconian Kyma belongs to the Design Hotels collection and carries the considered ambition that membership implies. The architecture follows the Cycladic vernacular without being enslaved to it — whitewashed volumes, raw stone retaining walls, and pergola structures with tensile shade sails replace the usual fussiness of resort kitsch with something closer to an elevated private compound. The pool terrace at dusk, lit from beneath the water, arranges itself against the island skyline with the ease of a property that understands its site. Inside, the interiors navigate two distinct registers. Some rooms lean into a clean, almost Nordic-Aegean fusion — sculpted honeycomb headboards in white plaster, mustard occasional chairs, white-painted timber floors and globe pendants that keep things light and unencumbered. Others shift warmer, with cork-toned wall panels framing large-format botanical murals, woven rope sofas upholstered in Aegean teal, and Missoni-pattern drum floor lamps providing a flash of Italian textile confidence. The restaurant pulls both threads together: chartreuse banquette seating and sculptural branching timber ceiling installations set against exposed island stone walls, floor-to-ceiling glazing framing Delos on the horizon. The overall effect is a property that treats the Cycladic landscape as collaborator rather than backdrop.

Myconian Kyma Reviews

"The staff at Myconian Kyma were extremely polite, warm, and attentive throughout my stay, and the views overlooking Mykonos were beautiful. I also genuinely enjoyed Mykonos itself. However, for a property that markets itself as a luxury resort, the overall experience fell short compared to other luxury resorts I’ve stayed at in Santorini and elsewhere in Greece. One of the biggest disappointments was being charged for coffee and tea pods in the room. I found this surprising for a resort positioning itself as luxury hospitality — especially when a coffee machine is already provided in the room. There was also no clear pricing information anywhere in the room for the coffee pods or minibar items, which felt misleading. The rooms themselves were quite small, and unfortunately my room had a noticeable mildew smell upon arrival. I also had to request replacement bedding because the original linens smelled unpleasant and had visible stains. Another detail that stood out negatively was housekeeping wiping down used glasses and coffee cups with a towel instead of replacing them with clean ones. Additionally, the resort offers very limited amenities and many are not clearly listed on their website, making the experience feel less premium than advertised. Overall, while the staff was wonderful and the scenery was lovely, the resort did not meet my expectations for a luxury property. I enjoyed my time in Mykonos, but I personally would choose a different resort if I return in the future."

"We traveled to Mykonos with my son’s family including their 9 month old baby. Our rooms at Kyma were very clean and when we went to the pool or dining areas the staff was friendly and attentive every time. Poppy and Christina at the front desk helped with logistics like coordinating rides and told us about all the amenities we wouldn’t want to miss. Yannis and his team greeted us every morning at breakfast with smiles. This is a beautiful location- fantastic sundowns, lovely layout with plenty of places to sit/relax while enjoying a cocktail or espresso. We hope to return again soon!"

"This hotel is wonderful - we visited at the end of season in October but it was still very welcoming and a great experience. Staff looked after us very well. Rooms are amazingly clean and well maintained and the view from our room was beautiful. On the last day we ate breakfast in the sister hotel which was lovely too. The pool is gorgeous and the weather was still fab in October."
