Contemporary-Cycladicconsidered

PB hotel design editorial

Ancient olive trees and dry-stacked Cycladic rubble stone frame an entrance courtyard where pinpoint lights embedded in the gravel path mirror the Aegean night sky above — the first signal that Myconian Naia, set along the Megali Ammos shoreline just below Mykonos Town, is working a more considered seam of Greek island hospitality than its neighbours. The Myconian Collection's design approach here pairs vernacular stonework and whitewashed volumes, anchored hard to the hillside, against contemporary interventions: a laser-cut bronze screen at the entrance pavilion, and the most architecturally arresting element in the images, a series of cantilevered timber pergolas whose hexagonal slatted canopies flare outward from woven column bases like abstracted palm fronds over the infinity pool terrace. The guestrooms carry the same productive tension between rough and refined — courses of warm honey-toned limestone left exposed on feature walls, oak-framed bed canopies, brass cone reading lamps, and Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs at writing desks that open onto private plunge pools with Aegean views. The rooftop bar pushes the timber pergola language further, its deep-red iroko slats and glass balustrades drawing the Delos straits into the composition at dusk. Original canvases hang in several suites, the art programme giving rooms an unhurried residential quality that keeps the interiors from feeling like a catalogue of Cycladic tropes assembled to order.

"Absolutely one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We went out of season ish early June so it was pretty quiet and peaceful. The rooms all have Sea and Mykonos Town View, modern and spacious with good bathroom facilities. There are three pool areas to choose from and all provide towels and great service for drinks and food. Value, I would say is very good, can be a bit expensive if you use their site restaurants however the food and service is extremely top notch. The house keeping staff keep the rooms spotless and provide water and all the little bathroom lotions and potions etc topped up. From day one the service by all the staff from Reception, Bar, Dining, House Keeping and other are extremely friendly and very happy to help with anything, they even take you to your room with their little on site trolley cars if wanted. The location is great, all bars and restaurants have a beautiful sea view of the harbour and Mykonos Town. The walk into town is about 15-20 mins, uphill on the way back so moderate and above fitness levels needed, but I bet they would provide a service to take you into Town which we didn't use. A fantastic 10/10!"

"We stayed last year at Bill and Coo which was fabulous, we did plan to revisit, but we left it too late so had to find somewhere nearby, step forward the Mykonian chain, whe eventually, spoilt for choice picked the Naia. A first class hotel, great rooms, staff, and facilities. On top of that three great restaurants a state of the art gym and panoramic views, ideally located on the edge of Mykonos Town. Great value, highly recommended"

"Five star resort with super cool vibes . Great staff who all went the extra mile to make our stay amazing. We had a Super suite with private pool and gorgeous views of Mykonos town and the bay below. Thank you so much to Stella and the ever smiling team especially Joanna, Nalia and Sofia with Maria and Panos in the restaurant. Also Theodore who always was around to help and drive us around. We thank you all. Our stay was sadly short but we loved it so much that we will be back. If you like luxury and second to none service with many many smiles - this is totally for you."
