PB hotel design editorial

Carved into the hillside above Tourlos bay, where cruise ships anchor in the middle distance and the Aegean shifts from deep indigo to rose at dusk, the Mykonos Riviera Hotel & Spa positions itself as a more composed alternative to the island's frenetic Chora scene. The property's massing follows the terraced logic of Cycladic vernacular architecture — white rendered volumes stepping down toward the water, punctuated by local fieldstone walls that appear throughout the exteriors and spill into the bar and dining terraces. Starlit pool decks at two levels face directly onto the bay, the upper terrace furnished with woven rattan chairs and low tables suited to the slow unhurried rhythm the hotel consciously cultivates. Inside, the 42 rooms and suites work in a palette of white Thassos marble floors, platform beds in pale linen, and rounded upholstered headboards — a vocabulary that keeps Cycladic restraint while borrowing softness from contemporary Athenian hospitality design. The more theatrical suites introduce freestanding oval bathtubs positioned at the foot of the bed against distressed plaster feature walls, the flaking texture and a thin pink accent stripe giving the room a studied edge that gestures toward boutique fashion-hotel conventions without fully committing to them. Origami-folded pendant lights and egg-shaped armchairs complete the interior picture — comfortable, sea-facing rooms that wear their location lightly and let the view, framed through wide sliding doors onto private terraces, do most of the work.

"This property is beautiful and well appointed. We stayed in a suite with a private heated pool and it was even better than the pictures. The staff is incredible. Before our arrival, Kostas the concierge spent a great deal of time to ensure our experiences and restaurants were everything we wanted. He hit the ball out of the park on every occasion. Housekeeping consistently went above and beyond. The on-site restaurant LAFS was delicious with a friendly and gracious staff. When my daughter had a dental emergency, the staff found a local dentist who saw her on a Friday evening and the next day, the director/owner of the property brought us back to the dentist and pharmacy himself. The entire family wishes we were staying here longer and we will definitely return. This property and it’s staff made our first visit to Mykonos truly magical."

"My husband and I took a belated honeymoon to Greece, and this was the perfect final stop on our island hopping journey. From start to finish, we enjoyed everything about our stay. The complimentary pickup/dropoff from the port was a great start, and the check in process was great. We were upgraded rooms upon arrival, and the room was stunning - large, clean, bright with a beautiful view! We enjoyed the breakfast, and the food/drink at the pool (another beautiful part of the hotel) but didn't have the opportunity to check out the restaurant for dinner. The proximity to the New Port (and Sea Bus) was a huge plus as well. This is 100% someplace we would love to visit again - thank you Mykonos Riviera for an amazing stay!"

"This has honestly been one of the best hotels I’ve been to. On arrival we were welcomed by Elena, We sat in reception with a glass of wine as she talked us through the hotel and surrounding area. She walked us through the hotel and showed us to our room. We had a spacious double room with a balcony and stairs to a rooftop terrace with a hot tub. The best bit about waking up was the morning view from our room. The pool area is made up of several different types of sun beds all extremely comfortable. The view is fab and the whole vibe is chilled. We chose the half board option. Breakfast was exceptional with an extensive Buffet plus an al a carte option ( all included). We also ate in the restaurant on several occasions and the food blew us away, I did not expect such a high standard of cuisine. Location: the hotel is located near the new port where you can get a Sea bus to the old town for €2.50 return. Also the hotel offers a shuttle to the old town in the evening every hour from 7pm. Taxi’s are expensive but the hotel will organise transfers for you to beach clubs and restaurants etc. For me, what sets this hotel apart is the level of service. The staff honestly could not do enough, they catered for our every need without being over baring. I have to give a special mention to Eleni, who looked after my friend and I for most of our time. Mykonos has definitely been such an enjoyable experience. We’ll be back next year with our girls and there is no question where we’ll be staying."

"We absolutely loved our experience at The Mykonos Riviera Hotel & Spa. From the guest rooms to the pool, gym & restaurants (though I wish I’d tried the spa) our stay was everything we’d hoped for and more. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff and service. The staff goes out of their way to anticipate your needs and make you feel special, yet are not at all intrusive. The hotel is located near the harbor which I had been concerned would be a detriment, but it wasn’t at all. They provide convenient transportation to Mykonos town which runs till midnight. Our room was lovely and even had a private pool. The Mykonos Riviera Hotel & Spa was truly one of the highlights of our Greece experience."
