"NOMADE MYKONOS — LUXURY PRICES, HOSTEL-LEVEL HOSPITALITYi Nomade Mykonos was not simply disappointing. It was one of the worst luxury-hotel experiences I have ever had. The property photographs beautifully. Unfortunately, hospitality requires considerably more than good architecture and an Instagram account. Our room was dirty. That alone is unacceptable for a hotel charging these prices. There is no 24-hour room service. Breakfast portions were almost comically small — to the point that we had to order double to receive what most hotels would consider a normal breakfast. We paid for what was presented as a two-bedroom suite. What we actually received was essentially two connecting hotel rooms. Calling that a two-bedroom suite is, in my opinion, extremely misleading. But the physical product isn’t even the biggest problem. The attitude is. The hotel operates with an extraordinary number of restrictions. Even playing music became an issue. Instead of feeling like we were on holiday in Mykonos, we felt constantly monitored and corrected. At some point you begin wondering whether you booked a luxury hotel or voluntarily checked yourself into a very expensive prison with a swimming pool. The staff interactions ranged from indifferent to outright rude. Most disturbingly, I was treated as though I were a thief. I have stayed in hotels around the world and I cannot remember another property where I have been made to feel so insulted as a paying guest. And then there is management. The management style we encountered was condescending, arrogant and astonishingly entitled. There appeared to be absolutely no possibility that a guest could have a legitimate complaint. Rather than listening, apologizing or attempting to resolve problems, the attitude seemed to be: management is right, the guest is wrong, end of discussion. That mentality has absolutely no place in hospitality, let alone so-called luxury hospitality. Nomade seems to have confused being expensive with being luxurious. They are not the same thing. Luxury is walking into an immaculate room. Luxury is exceptional service. Luxury is gracious staff. Luxury is solving problems without making the guest feel like the problem. Luxury is making someone feel welcome. Nomade managed to fail at virtually every one of those things. You can build a gorgeous property. You can hire a photographer. You can create beautiful branding. You can charge luxury prices. But if the guest leaves feeling dirty-roomed, restricted, insulted, accused and unwelcome, you have fundamentally failed at being a hotel. For anyone considering Nomade Mykonos: there are far too many genuinely excellent hotels on this island to waste your money here. My strongest recommendation: Stay somewhere else. Anywhere else."

"We had the most relaxing and magical stay at Nomad Mykonos. From the moment we arrived, we were pampered and made to feel completely at home. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, always with a smile and ready to help with anything. Our suite was absolutely stunning, with such a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. "From the moment you arrive, thanks to the warmth and professionalism with which you are welcomed, you already realize that it is going to be an incredible stay. Absolutely every corner and every detail of the Nomad Mykonos is made and decorated with exquisiteness. We stayed in a spectacular room where we found the relaxation we were looking for and we greatly enjoyed the private pool. The food, both served in the poolside restaurant and the room service, is great. And the coffee delicious! The cleanliness and attention to detail are perfect. "We stayed for a week with friends on holiday. The hotel is 25 minutes by car out of Mykonos town, about 300m from the sandy beach of Kala Livadi. We stayed in the Grand Two Bedroom Suite with private pool and hot tub. The hotel arranged pickup from the airport. Check-in was exemplary and we can echo the comments by other reviewers that the client care we received throughout the week was beyond our expectations. The Suite comprised two separate bedrooms with king beds, each with its own bathroom (shower, toilet, washbasin) and each opening onto the large patio with private pool, hot tub, 2 double day beds, table and chairs for al fresco eating, 2 fridges, and some basic crockery and cutlery. Good linen, minibar, Nespresso, and good quality toiletries complete the picture. Views over the bay were spectacular. Housekeeping was done each day whilst we were at breakfast. We did comment to the team that we felt that the pillows needed improving and that the black towels, whilst they were changed each day, nevertheless would be improved if they were a lighter shade. There was no TV, but very effective Wi-Fi. Unlike some other reviewers we found the food to be excellent. Breakfast was to order and included Greek and international choices. It was served promptly and was delicious, as were two evening meals and one room service lunch. The hotel staff helped us organize trips, arranged drivers when we wanted them, and generally could not have been more helpful. As expected for mid-June we had wall-to-wall sunshine everyday, albeit sometimes with significant gusts of wind which the island is famous for. But if the weather had been less good it is worth noting that the suite has no indoor sitting area. In summary a quiet haven of well managed, unobtrusive good taste. We loved it."
