Whitewashed cubic volumes stepping down a clifftop above the bay of Agia Eirini, on Paros's quieter western coast, give Luura – Cliff its essential character before you ever cross a threshold. Elastic Architects conceived the 39-suite adults-only property, due to open in 2026, as a kind of constructed village: dry-stone retaining walls in local rubble masonry hold the terraces in place while the plastered volumes above read as an extension of the Cycladic landscape, small apertures punched through thick walls in the manner of vernacular island building. The effect, glimpsed from the water, is of a settlement that grew organically from the cliff face. Berlin-based Lambs and Lions Studio carries that material logic indoors. Dark-stained timber beams and ceiling joists pull warmth into rooms that might otherwise feel austerely white, and arched openings between spaces soften what a purely contemporary fit-out might have left as hard geometry. Furniture runs to low platform beds in figured walnut, X-frame chairs with woven seats, and slab-timber writing desks — forms that sit comfortably between Cycladic precedent and mid-century Mediterranean craft traditions. The pool terrace, dense with olive trees and date palms, brings shade in a landscape where it matters, the planting doing the work that permanent structure cannot. Of the 39 suites, 19 include private pools, each positioned to hold the Aegean in frame.
