PB hotel design editorial

Nineteen thousand square metres of Parian hillside, planted roofs dissolving into the scrubland, whitewashed cubic volumes stepping down toward working vineyards and the Aegean beyond — OVEA Paros, set to open in 2026 near Naoussa, is built on the idea that a hotel should be hard to locate within its own landscape. The earth-sheltered architecture pushes the structures low, their planted crowns reading as extensions of the terrain, while the massing — clusters of whitewashed boxes separated by dry-stone walls and wild grasses — draws on the isolated farmstead typology of the Cyclades without reproducing it literally. Twenty-one suites and villas, each with a private pool, are distributed across the grounds with enough separation that the estate functions less like a hotel and more like a hamlet that happens to have a 25-metre infinity pool as its social centre. Internally, the palette stays close to the island's material culture: tadelakt-smooth plaster walls in warm sand tones, low platform beds in solid oak, Berber-influenced flat-weave rugs, and hand-formed ceramic objects on walnut writing desks. Textured relief panels above the headboards reference local craft without illustrating it. The restaurant opens on two sides through retractable glass walls, its reed-clad ceiling and locally quarried stone columns framing an unobstructed view across the vineyard to the lighthouse and sea beyond — a view that, on Paros, is still genuinely easy to lose yourself in.
