PB hotel design editorial

Local stone laid in the dry-stacked tradition of the Peloponnese forms the exterior skin of W Costa Navarino, the first W Hotels property in Greece, which arrived on the Navarino Waterfront in August 2022. Alexandros N. Tombazis & Associates shaped the 13-hectare beachfront site as a low-slung coastal village — cobbled paths, monolithic volumes, planted roofs — applying bioclimatic principles throughout so that the architecture earns its landscape rather than simply colonising it. K-Studio contributed the Parelía beach club and the Platía gathering space, and their open-sided restaurant, visible in the images, pulls the Messinian Gulf directly into the dining experience through rattan pendant shades and teak furniture set against an unbroken sea horizon. MKV Design handled the interiors of the public areas and guest rooms, and their approach across the 226 rooms, suites, and villas is warmer than the W brand's usual urban register. Woven timber headboards, dark slate floor tiles, and bamboo cage pendants ground the rooms in a Mediterranean material palette, while the Secto Design floor lamp in one sea-view room signals the level of considered specification at work throughout. Outside, a layered sequence of infinity pools, cypress trees, and olive groves steps down toward the water — a landscaping strategy that softens the resort's considerable scale and gives the whole complex the atmosphere of a place that has always been here rather than one recently delivered to the shoreline.

W Costa Navarino Reviews

"Our family of 5 had a fantastic stay at the W Costa Navarino, on a wonderful beach, where we could swim out to the jetty each morning, it is very picturesque. There is a good gym which is part inside, part outside, excellent classes (particularly recommend the pilates / yoga) and a very nice spa area with steam rooms and sauna. The food is excellent, just so much choice, and the covered outside eating area overlooking the sea works really well, as does the circular bar area for evening cocktails. The beach front villas are fabulous, it is wonderful to step straight out on to the sand in the morning and go for a dip before everyone else wakes up. Oh and special shout out to the lovely and very helpful team on reception, especially Alex, and also the restaurant team who could not have been more helpful. We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back again to the "W" before too long."

"We stayed at the W Hotel for the Iron Man event, where my husband was competing, and I want to sincerely thank Kostas Kanaris for his amazing help! He assisted us at the very last minute to find a room, and although everything seemed fully booked, he handled the situation perfectly and with true professionalism. Kostas was kind, efficient, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of — something we appreciated deeply during such a stressful time. Thanks to him, we were able to relax and truly enjoy our stay. People like Kostas make all the difference! The W Hotel is already an incredible place, but he is definitely a huge asset to the team. We would absolutely choose this hotel again!"

"We stayed in September at this amazing property. First of all very nice and friendly staff all over the property. The interior was amazing very appealing. The room was great just some minor issues with the cleaning. Like the lights besides the bed which were dusty. Great pool areas, but some of the poolside beds need to be replaced as damaged. Spa was very nice, unfortunately no jacuzzi. Parking on site. Quite a good selection of restaurant at the hotel as at the agora besides. Breakfast was good but the presentation of the food was not perfect like at the bakery or at the cookery Bit nonetheless an excellent stay with some improvements at the mentioned areas this would be a perfect place."

"We had a great 7 night stay at the W. A stunning location, lovely room on the top floor, great selection of buffet and a la carte and setting for breakfast with lovely pools and beach options. Good range of dining options across the hotels and local villages/towns. Also liked the fact that adults only as our children have now grown up. Would definitely return."
