"We arrived at Canaves and the views were incredible. Then we were greeted at the front desk by the friendliest people ever. They gave us a tour of the property and every employee we met greeted us with the warmest welcome. We felt like they were so excited to have us there. They took us to the pool and offered us a complimentary welcome drink which we drank overlooking the Aegean Sea. The spa was amazing and the room was the best ever!! They upgraded us to the superior suite with plunge pool which overlooked the sea. We were in heaven! The staff treated us like family and we had such a fun time with them over our 5 night stay. We did not want to leave. It will be hard to top Canaves. We have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels including our wedding at the Ritz Carlton. This was the best of all the hotels we have ever stayed at all over the world. Vesili (Bill) who works at the restaurant was hilarious and he had us laughing the whole time. He gave us a list of things to do in Chania. Went the extra mile to take care of us. They all were incredible!!! Do not stay anywhere else in Santorini. Nothing will be better than Canaves Oia Suites!! I guarantee it. It was like a wellness retreat more than a hotel. Also, the breakfast is amazing and you can order anything and everything on the menu for free. Thank you!!!"

"My stay at Canaves was unfortunately underwhelming, especially given the expectations that come with booking through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. The view is undeniably incredible—easily the highlight of the property—but beyond that, the experience fell short. Upon check-in, Anesthesia mentioned we were eligible for an upgrade, yet I was initially assigned a room located directly along the main pedestrian pathway. The lack of privacy and constant noise made the room feel exposed and far from relaxing. I ultimately had to return to the front desk and raise concerns before being accommodated with a more suitable room. Service was also inconsistent. Anesthesia seemed to present the standard welcome amenity—a bottle of white wine, which I do not drink—as though it were a personal gesture, which felt misleading. Additionally, I found her approach to be intrusive at times. During one interaction, she lingered unnecessarily, and when I asked for breakfast menus, they were never delivered. I’m accustomed to a high level of service and professionalism when booking through FHR, and unfortunately, this stay did not meet those standards. While the views are stunning, the overall guest experience did not align with the level of service I expect from a property in this category."

"We spent 4 fabulous nights at this hotel for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were in a dream. The hotel is amazing and the views from our pool suite were breath-taking. Our plunge pool was not to be believed - it was one of the largest plunge pools we have ever had! I could go on and on about the wonderful amenities, the beautiful room, the thoughtful evening gifts left on our bed, the constant fresh towels and linens and the delicious food but it is the staff that were the highlight of this trip. Everyone we encountered was so kind, warm and caring. Always a smile and stopping to chat, making sure we were happy and comfortable. When we had a small issue with our sun lounger, they replaced it within 20 minutes of our request. A special shout out to Markos, the owner; Fay; the Reception staff; Cristos and Georges at breakfast and Nadia, our lovely and sweet housekeeper! All of them went above and beyond to make our anniversary PERFECT! We cannot recommend this hotel enough. A 10+ star experience and memories we will treasure forever."

"My husband and I stayed at Canaves Suites Oia for five nights in August. This was one of the most beautiful hotels and locations I’ve ever stayed at. I did a LOT of research on the best places to stay in Santorini and am SO glad we chose this hotel. It is situated right at the start of the long main pedestrian street in Oia, steps away from all the restaurants and shops but removed enough from the center to feel quiet and private — truly the best of both worlds. Our room was gorgeous. We had our own warm plunge pool with stunning views of the ocean and town. The hotel grounds and breakfasts were unreal. Everything felt elevated, clean and upscale — a splurge vacation for the books. The entire staff was so kind — in particular, Christos, Ali and Yorgos helped make our time in Santorini top-notch and memorable. Big thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful stay and memories that will last a lifetime! 🤍"

"We got married in September on the Panorama Balcony and Canaves Oia, and it was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived at Canaves until we left, the staff made us feel like we were their sole priority, making sure every detail, every request was carried through. I can't even begin to rave about Melanie, our wedding planner at Canaves. She made leading up to the event and day of so stress free. The property itself is beyond beautiful. Highly recommend the honeymoon suite, even if it's not your honeymoon. The space and privacy are 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻. We've been raving about this place since we left and plan to go back for one of our anniversaries."
