PB hotel design editorial

Raw volcanic stone set against lime-washed plaster — the material tension visible across Santo Pure Oia Suites & Villas captures something essential about Santorini's own geology, where the island's dark basaltic rock and blinding white render have coexisted for centuries. Positioned on the caldera's northern edge above Oia, the property arranges its suites and villas across terraced levels that step down toward the Aegean, the massing deliberately fragmented to echo the vernacular clustering of a Cycladic settlement rather than announce itself as a resort. The infinity pool dissolves into the horizon with an authority that only an east-facing position at this elevation can produce, the water line indistinguishable from the sea beyond. Inside, the rooms work in a register closer to a considered private house than a hotel. Barrel-vaulted ceilings in rough plaster wash the interiors with a diffused, almost lunar light, and the palette stays rigorously within white, grey linen, and warm rattan — woven Acapulco-style chairs, rattan drum stools, circular leather-strap mirrors, and black industrial wall sconces providing the only contrast against the seamless microcement floors. The restaurant pavilion opens its full width to the pool terrace through a wood and reed ceiling structure that filters Aegean light without blocking it, black rope-woven dining chairs arranged around solid timber rounds in a composition that feels deliberately unhurried. The whole property moves at the pace the landscape demands.

"My friend and I had a wonderful time here - everything was perfect. The location is exceptional: an oasis of calm but a short walk to the hustle and bustle of Oia. We were blown away by the sunset views from the bar, just perfect. All the staff were wonderful but a special mention goes to Katerina our friendly, gorgeous and talented yoga instructor. Would totally recommend! The outdoor studio overlooking the sea was beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay."

"My husband and I stayed at Santo Pure in Santorini for four nights at the end of June, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel is in a perfect location, just a 5-minute walk from Oia, but it still feels incredibly peaceful and secluded. The uninterrupted sunset views from the restaurant are absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in a Sunset View Jacuzzi Suite, which was spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed. Watching the sunset from our private jacuzzi was unforgettable. We're so glad we chose the jacuzzi suite rather than a private pool, as the evenings were cool enough that we probably wouldn't have used a pool. The hotel also has several lovely pools to choose from, with the main pool being our favourite. It's right next to the bar and restaurant, and the staff happily serve drinks straight to your sunbed. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and breakfast each morning was excellent with plenty of choice. Breakfast was included in our stay, and the staff were always friendly, attentive, and happy to help. The service throughout the hotel really stood out. Every member of staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to want to do everything they could to make our stay special. We were welcomed with fruit and a bottle of wine on arrival, bottled water was replenished in our room every day, and the evening turndown service was a lovely touch. We also loved the little extras, such as the complimentary shoulder and neck massage offered by the on-site spa while we were relaxing by the pool. During our stay, the hotel arranged a taxi for us to visit Fira, which was much busier than Oia but great for exploring the shops and stopping for lunch. We walked to down to Amoudi Bay in Oia, which is absolutely beautiful and well worth the visit. The blue domes are also lovely to see and have a photo taken in front of. One tip for anyone visiting Santorini: definitely wear comfortable trainers, as many of the paths are uneven and can be quite slippery. We saw several people struggling in flip-flops and sliders. A handy tip for future guests: pool towels are already provided in your room, but there are also fresh towels rolled up on the sunbeds by the main pool, so there's no need to carry them around with you. Overall, Santo Pure exceeded all of our expectations. The combination of stunning views, exceptional service, beautiful accommodation, fantastic food, and a peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and would love to return."

"I usually do not write reviews, but I enjoyed my stay here at Santo Pure so much I felt like I had to! The staff was unbelievably friendly and tended to every need I had. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The views from the hotel were stunning. The location was perfect being a 5-7 minute walk to the center of Oia up some stairs (totally manageable if physically able - Oia town is just as hilly) but also has a resort style spacious feel to it. The hotel didn’t feel too crowded, had ample staff onsite — all staff was AMAZING. Complimentary breakfast was great with so many options and good quality. Towel service at pool was awesome. Concierge helped book rides to/from anywhere - costing 40 to 80 euro depending where you go. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone coming to Santorini!"

"We had 11 nights staying in a Sunset Pool Suite & loved every moment. The location of the hotel is perfect, amazing sunset view & a 5 minute walk & you are in the centre of Oia. The service in the hotel Is phenomenal, the staff are incredibly attentive & efficient. The upkeep of the facilities is extremely high. Our room was kept beautifully by the wonderful housekeeping team. Sunbeds around the pool were incredibly comfy with lots of fresh towels. My only criticism would be the storage in the room, there are no drawers or cupboards & the wardrobe is incredibly short, so no where to hang long dresses. Other than that, no complaints. We will definitely return."

"The experience I had today visiting the Anessa Spa at the Santa Pure Oia Hotel was second to none! The attention to detail and exceptional service delivered by both Deanna, (when making the arrangements,) and my Therapist on the day, Daniela, were exemplary. The treatments I had were delivered expertly and at the exact requested pressure demonstrating a level of professionalism exceeding all expectations. I highly recommend you embrace this whilst visiting this exceptional resort."
