PB hotel design editorial

On a sea cliff at the southwestern tip of Zakynthos, where the Ionian drops away toward the Peloponnese and the silhouette of Kefalonia rises on the horizon, the site itself sets the terms for everything that follows. Lesante Cape Resort & Villas was conceived as a terraced village descending the headland in tiers — whitewashed volumes, terracotta-tiled rooftops, and rough-cut local limestone walls arranged so that each level dissolves into the next without blocking the view from above. The tiered infinity pools visible from the air make the logic explicit: water, architecture, and sea merge along a single axis pointed west into the sunset. Inside, the interiors draw on the vernacular of the Ionian islands with considerable restraint. Exposed timber ceiling beams in bleached ash, rubble-stone feature walls in the local pale limestone, and travertine floor tiles in a warm ivory register give the rooms their texture, while four-poster beds in natural wood and loosely woven throws in grey and sand keep the palette grounded. The restaurant opens on three sides beneath a slatted timber pergola, rope-woven chairs gathered around white-clothed tables with Kefalonia filling the entire frame beyond the glass. Hammocks, young olive trees planted into poolside planters, and timber pergola structures on the terraces carry the same materials vocabulary outdoors — the effect closer to an elevated Greek farmstead than a conventional resort.

Lesante Cape Resort & Villas Reviews

"We stayed at Lesante Cape for a week in late June/early July. Given the resort's positioning and price point, our expectations were high, but the overall experience did not match a 5-star luxury standard. **Room cleanliness:** On arrival, the bathroom floor was visibly dirty — wiping it with a tissue left the tissue black, indicating it had not been properly cleaned for some time. When I contacted the front desk, the staff member who came to address it first attributed the discoloration to the natural stone, then explained there had been an island-wide power outage affecting cleaning, and said the room could not be cleaned for another two hours. The tone of this interaction felt condescending rather than helpful. Despite requesting it be addressed multiple times during the stay, the cleaning remained surface-level rather than a proper deep clean. **Cleanliness elsewhere on property:** This was not isolated to the room. The gym and paddle court were also not well maintained, and diners at the restaurant in the evening had a view of uncleared garbage at the pool bar. **Dietary requests:** As a vegetarian, I was served non-vegetarian dishes twice — a tuna poke bowl and eggs with bacon — despite ordering from the vegetarian menu. When I raised this, the bacon was simply removed from the existing plate rather than a fresh dish being prepared. I also have a lactose intolerance and requested almond milk with coffee; on more than one occasion it arrived with regular dairy milk, with almond milk provided only as a side. **Service and follow-up:** Staff generally seemed to be trying, but training gaps were evident — for example, I was locked out of my room by cleaning staff while I was on the terrace. I raised feedback with management during the stay; while the guest relations representative I spoke with was empathetic and clearly listened, she did not appear empowered to make any changes or offer resolution. No attempt at compensation or acknowledgment was made despite repeated issues raised in real time. **Value for money:** The room itself uses lower-cost materials than expected at this price point (e.g., plastic toilet and toilet brush). For context, this resort sits in a similar price bracket to properties like Eliamos in Kefalonia or entry-level rooms at One&Only Athens — the gap in standards compared to those properties was significant. **Positives:** The food was generally good, and staff, while under-trained in places, did make an effort. Overall, this stay did not reflect the standard expected for the price paid, and I would not return."

"Great hotel! Wonderful time!"

"Came over for an engagement, and already planning the honeymoon We arrived via a transfer the hotel had booked via emails, welcomed in immediately by the 2 men at the front. We sat down and were offered drinks from Sarah while our passports were taken (they were returned within minutes). Our room was ready for us, which we thought was amazing because it wasn’t officially the time to ‘check in’, and they didn’t even charge extra. Sarah took us to our room, and she wasn’t kidding when she said we had been upgraded - we had a pool!!!! We looked at the kids club because we plan to have children with us on holiday soon, and it’s open for around 10 hours a day - the longest kids club we’ve known. We booked Bostani for a night, because the night we wanted was fully booked. It was nice, but near the cooking was really too much, and at the end of June? I couldn’t imagine being there in the heat in August, but food was really good. We asked Sarah for seafood, and she told us for a lobster night. The saxophone was amazing. You should do this for the saxophone alone, because it was so nice. Food also very flavourful, but offered water and assumed free because it was offered, but no it was on the bill. I don’t mind, but be clear if something is offered, or if something is paid for - just the principal. We didn’t do the taverna, or the other poolside one, as we went out, but I would recommend the Fiore lobster night. If you need a taxi, precook it with Sarah, other wise there is a long wait (up to 25 mins) Sarah is there morning, afternoon and evening. She even helped us not in uniform (wr think she had finished) one night after midnight but still called us a taxi, and spoke with us until it got there. Long story becomes short: you will LOVE your stay, Sarah will help you with everything you need."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lesante Cape and Spa. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and helpful. The reception team made check-in seamless and were always on hand to assist with anything we needed throughout our stay. The hotel itself is stunning—beautifully designed, exceptionally maintained, and set in a fantastic location. Every area of the property is immaculate, and the facilities and services are of the highest standard. It is clear that great attention is paid to every detail, creating a truly relaxing and luxurious experience. A special thank you to Marcel, Ellie, Amalia, Kostas, Alexandros, and Sarah for their outstanding hospitality. Their friendliness, attentiveness, and genuine care made our stay even more memorable. They are a real credit to the hotel. We would highly recommend Lesante Cape and Spa to anyone looking for a first-class holiday experience and look forward to returning in the future"
