"The room was not built for four people. One washbasin for a family of four, and the toilet inside the bathroom rather than separate, meant a permanent queue every morning and evening. The bed advertised as a "queen" was 140 cm wide. That is a standard double. Two adults sharing it is a genuinely poor night's sleep, night after night. Turndown is on request only, not automatic, which is surprising at this level. The valet service was visibly understaffed — a minimum 15-minute wait for our car, every single day, without exception. Credit where it is due: the staff were consistently kind and attentive, the breakfast buffet was generous, and the building is beautiful and perfectly placed on the harbour. But breakfast is not included in the rate, so a family pays for it on top of an already high room price. If you are two people travelling light, you may well enjoy it. As a family of four, we paid a lot for a room that could not accommodate us properly. We would not return."

"Our stay at The Reykjavik EDITION was outstanding from start to finish. We arrived on a red-eye flight and had an evening cruise embarkation, and the hotel graciously accommodated both an early check-in and a late check-out. As Luminous and Marriott Platinum members, we were also upgraded to a spacious king loft room that was both luxurious and comfortable. The service truly stood out. We were welcomed with a beautiful fruit basket and a complimentary cocktail at the hotel’s hidden speakeasy. The concierge team was incredibly helpful, arranging taxis and reservations throughout our stay and making everything seamless. The room featured plush robes and a large, spa-like shower room. While the bathroom was stunning in design, the open layout did leave water splashed around the tub area after showering. A minor inconvenience in an otherwise exceptional stay. What impressed us most was the staff’s dedication to guest service. After boarding our cruise, we realized we had accidentally left medication in the room’s mini fridge. One phone call was all it took. The hotel located the medication and arranged for it to be delivered directly to our ship before departure. Their understanding, responsiveness, and willingness to help turned what could have been a stressful situation into a non-issue. The Reykjavik EDITION combines luxury, comfort, and genuinely outstanding hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to take care of us, making this the perfect start to our Iceland adventure. Highly recommended."

"The Reykjavik Edition hotel has a GREAT location, right on the harbor. We had a corner suite, which while expensive had great expansive views of the harbor comings and goings of cruise ships and tugboats as well as the Harpa located next door. The hotel was clean and modern. The hotel staff is among the best trained and most customer-friendly hotel staff I have ever experienced...beyond Ritz-Carlton, beyond Four Seasons, beyond Madarin Oriental. Each and every staff member was welcoming, gracious and helpful. The room was VERY quiet even though it was looking out on the harbor. Dark curtains blocked the midnight sun, very important for summer. Easy walking distant to great retaurants in downtown Reykjavik. The restaurant in the hotel was very good although expensive like all the restaurants in Iceland. Breakfast was a big buffet spread that covered all bases. The rooftop bar (Carolina and the rest of the team) we first rate as well, with great drinks, food and views."

"We stayed two nights pre-cruise to explore Reykjavik. Everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel location was close to the main downtown sightseeing area and the harbor front. Breakfast, which was included, was wonderful, varied and fresh. The room was very comfortable. Overall, a treat!"
