PB hotel design editorial

Spread across 76 acres of laterite-soil coastline at Mobor Beach, where the Sal River meets the Arabian Sea in southern Goa, The St. Regis Goa Resort arranges its 255 rooms and villas across low-rise terracotta-roofed pavilions that dissolve into dense coconut groves rather than asserting any single architectural gesture. The aerial view makes the logic clear: clusters of warm-ochre buildings threaded through lily ponds and mature tropical planting, a nine-hole golf course pressing toward the beach, the whole composition scaled to feel more like a private estate than a resort campus. Inside, the interiors draw on a colonial-tropical vernacular that suits the Goan context — dark-stained four-poster beds with barley-twist detailing, ebonised hardwood floors anchored by natural jute rugs, and accents in burnt orange and amber that echo the laterite palette outside. Coffered ceilings with concealed uplighting give the villa rooms a pavilion quality, ceiling fans reinforcing the sense of a well-appointed plantation house updated for contemporary comfort. The beach restaurant, sheltered beneath a pitched palm-thatch roof supported by rope-wrapped columns, frames the Arabian Sea at the horizon through open sides — flagstone floors and woven-rattan chairs keeping the material language rooted in coastal Goa rather than reaching for generic resort luxury. A long rectangular lap pool, edged in pale sandstone and framed by frangipani and sea almond, draws the eye directly toward the fairways and the sea beyond.

"We stayed at the The St. Regis Goa Resort from 8–11 April to celebrate our daughter’s 1st birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. As long-time patrons of Taj Hotels, we tried a Marriott International property for the first time—and we’re glad we did. Despite the pool being closed (which was informed in advance), the team handled our concern exceptionally well and truly exceeded expectations with their customer-first approach. The birthday room decoration was a lovely touch, and traveling with an infant felt completely hassle-free thanks to the flexible and caring staff. Everyone was courteous and always ready to help. Excellent and extensive food spread Private beach access (big plus) Unique champagne sabering experience Staff even helped us click amazing photos—like pros! Rooms were clean and well-maintained as expected from a luxury resort. Special thanks to Riya, Sabitry, Januki, and Pradeep for making our stay truly memorable."

"Really nice hotel, but what makes it is the staff.. There is a buffet restaurant Mira, but also an Italian and Fish Restaurant(by the beach). We ate at all of them and they were faultless. There is a butler service, but all staff were attentive and welcoming.. Suraj, Dibyatyoti, Anuj, Karan, Daiveek, Anush, Saheli and Cryuff (sorry if I missed anyone) Rooms are lovely, great housekeeping and beach staff can not do enough to help. we will be back!"

"The best hotel resort in South Goa 🤩 I visited St Regis Goa with my 14 year old son and we were impressed and fell in love with everything. We booked a car service for the airport, which was hassle free. Arrival was relaxed with a gong ceremony and seat, drink and then buggy ride to room. We were allocated Kuldeep as our butler for the duration, who was there for us throughout our stay and if I needed anything, I contacted him directly, which made things so easy. He went above and beyond to make our stay exquisite! We had the standard twin room, which was stunning with a view over the lagoon from our balcony. The bathroom has an incredibly deep tub, large shower enclosure, toilet and large vanity sink with toothbrush and paste, combs, face soap, body soap, cotton pads and buds, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, loofer and usefully scales. Bedroom had two large single beds, triple wardrobe, large flat screen tv, tea and coffee making facilities, kettle, coffee machine, safe and plenty of storage. We booked a Live Cookery lesson with the hotel and Chef Santoosh spent a couple of hours cooking up our favourites, whilst we helped cook and then ate the results-highly recommended 🤩 We loved the pool, which has towels, complimentary water and ice tea and helpfully a selection of spf. Also have a push button service for waiters from your sun lounger 🤩 The spa is amazing and I had three treatments with Nadia (I think) which were all respectively carried out and sublime 🤩 The beach is stunning with waiter service, comfy subbed and buggy service there and back. There is a lifeguard on duty all day and water is safe to swim early on. We booked b&b and the breakfasts were amazing with a selection of Indian, Asian and European food and beverages-really would be hard pushed not to find something to eat in there and we tried different foods each day. We spent 6 nights at St Regis Goa and then moved o to St Regis Mumbai for 2 nights before flying home and Shubham, Head Butler at Goa put us in touch with the butlers at Mumbai to help us make bookings prior to our arrival 🤩 We can’t recommend this place enough and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have if you’re unsure about anything-I did a lot of research prior to booking and it was worth it! You won’t be disappointed ❤️"
