PB hotel design editorial

Rajasthan sandstone rises in chhatris, cusped arches, and jharokha balconies across a facade that announces the Fairmont Jaipur as a piece of new-build palace architecture executed with genuine craft ambition rather than superficial pastiche. Opened in 2012 on the Kukas highway north of the city, the property was conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the Rajput-Mughal idiom — the warm honey-coloured stone, the layered skyline of domed pavilions, and the colonnaded terraces all drawn from the vocabulary of the great havelis and forts of the region. The pool courtyard, visible in the exterior image, deploys a long reflecting tank flanked by manicured lawns and timber sun loungers, the stone screen behind it carved with figurative friezes that anchor the water axis to the building's massing in a manner closer to formal Mughal garden planning than resort-hotel convention. Inside, the 245 rooms and suites carry the material language through consistently: dark-stained timber flooring, carved four-poster beds with bobbin-turned posts, arched windows framed in white plasterwork that frame the Aravalli hills beyond. The bar and lounge deepens the palette considerably — navy walls, ebonised beam ceilings, brass-inlaid jali screens, and tiger-print upholstery giving the space an atmosphere of a maharaja's private durbar. The open-air dining terrace, framed by fluted marble columns and horseshoe arches in white marble, looks out across the city's roofscape at dusk, the Aravallis darkening behind it.

"My experience with the revenue and reservations team at Fairmont Jaipur (Reservation #QQDSDVJJ) has been completely appalling. Shortly after booking directly, I found the exact same room and dates on Goibibo for a lower total price with superior inclusions (half-board, children staying free, laundry and beverage discounts, and cultural events). When I requested they honor their advertised "Best Price Guarantee," their reservation specialist, Mr. Pravin, subjected me to an endless runaround of shifting, fabricated excuses: - First, he claimed prices change by the minute. - Then, he claimed they only match prices on their own website. When shown their policy explicitly applies to third-party applications, he pivoted to claiming they only match the "base price." Finally, he invented a rule stating they do not honor third-party coupons or discounts—none of which exist anywhere in Accor's written terms. As a Director at Walmart, where customer trust, transparency, and business ethics are absolute non-negotiables, watching a hospitality brand resort to making up rules on the fly to dodge a valid claim is shameful. Their written policy explicitly covers third-party channels calculated on the total cost of the stay with identical inclusions, yet local staff deliberately misrepresent their own terms to wear customers down. Given this unethical treatment, I have canceled my interest in staying here and advise future guests to be extremely cautious of their misleading "Best Price Guarantee.""

"I recently returned to Fairmont Jaipur in 2026 with my wife and daughter, following an equally wonderful stay just a month earlier in July. Once again, the property exceeded every expectation with its warmth and royal hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was regal—complete with a traditional flower shower, Rajasthani bangles, and turbans. Check-in was seamless; we simply relaxed in the lounge while the team handled the paperwork. A special mention goes to Mr. Haseen Qureshi, who gave us a fascinating tour of the palace architecture and amenities, and thoughtfully gifted us a lovely family portrait as a parting keepsake. The team’s attention to detail as returning guests was incredible. While they surprised us with beautiful floral decor in July, this stay was elevated even further with a generous upgrade from a Gold Room to a Suite. The culinary experience was top-notch throughout our stay, and the chefs went out of their way to customize dishes to our preferences. The Fairmont Gold Lounge was another major highlight—the evening high tea spread and the 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM cocktail hours were exceptional. Warm appreciation to Aditya, Lokam, Tasdiq, and Vistarika for their attentive and gracious service. My daughter is already asking when we can return. Fairmont Jaipur remains our top recommendation for a luxury family staycation or celebration, and we look forward to visiting again soon!"
