PB hotel design editorial

White Makrana marble — the same stone that gives the Taj Mahal its luminous skin — was the primary material chosen for the palace complex that became Raffles Jaipur, a purpose-built property on the outskirts of Kukas that was conceived from the ground up to evoke the idiom of Rajput royal architecture rather than adapt an existing structure. The massing in the exterior image confirms the ambition: domed chhatris, cusped arches, jali screens, and tiered pavilions rise in a composition that draws on the vocabulary of Shekhawati havelis and Mughal garden palaces simultaneously, the whole surface catching the low Rajasthani sun with the quality of carved ivory. Inside, the double-height all-day dining room reveals the scale the architects were working at — amber Murano-style glass chandeliers suspended from an elaborately carved plaster ceiling, geometric inlaid marble floors in black, gold, and cream, and a central planting feature anchoring a room that might otherwise overwhelm. Guest rooms carry the same layered sensibility: four-poster beds draped in celadon silk, mother-of-pearl inlaid side tables, hand-painted gold botanical motifs on blush-washed walls, and cusped marble columns framing private balconies over the Aravalli hills. The infinity pool, edged in teal mosaic and anchored by a white marble pavilion, extends the architectural language into the landscape, the hills beyond completing a panorama that no historic palace could have arranged more deliberately.

"I couldn’t have chosen a better hotel for my birthday and my first visit to Rajasthan. I already had high expectations for what a Raffles property could deliver and Raffles Jaipur exceeded them. The service is personalised throughout and requests are responded to instantly over WhatsApp by a group of ‘butlers’ who have a genuine desire to go above and beyond. A special mention for driver Amit. I found Amit’s driving safe, professional and he came with great local knowledge of Jaipur. Not only did he get us from A to B safely but he was spot on with all his shopping and tourism recommendations and helped us visit as many sights as we could in our short visit."

"Raffles Hotel in Jaipur is a refreshing Luxury Experience, has it’s flaws but definitely one worth experiencing. Let’s start with the location - it’s outside the main city, will take you about 20-30 minutes to get the the Pink City party. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you’re going for a relaxing vacation, especially since the location is quite close to the main expressways. The Hotel itself seems like a smaller version of what one would have actually built, it is quite compact in all honesty. There is a central courtyard which is surrounded by rooms from one floor up. It is connected to The Fairmont, which makes it almost seem like a feeder hotel to the main Hotel. Not necessarily a bad thing (again) since there is lesser movement and noise. The rooms are well appointed, they have USB-C charger sockets built in and an alarm clock with a wireless charger - nice touches. The bathrooms are lavish, almost as big as the rest of the room actually. You get some almost artisanal teas, a Nespresso-Compatible Coffee Machine, a decent minibar, most toiletries too. Beds are comfortable, ample pillow options too. Very important - rooms are quite decently insulated from outside sounds. This Hotel felt like one that was built with a lot of intent and effort, very well made. The real challenge now will be maintaining it - which will be decided as time passes by. Some signs like carpets that probably have never been washed, signs of seepage in some hallways, and some walls where the paint is chipping off, glue marks from tape usage, etc. are already visible. The Bar and Restaurants were actually surprisingly nice. The drinks were well balanced, the food itself was great. The staff makes all the difference really, good recommendations basis our tastes and preferences. The staff is why one should stay at this property. Everything else is replicable, but the courtesy and know-how of the staff is not. So 5 stars for that earned and how. Room service is a bit slow though, the staff had to take 3 attempts to get us a warm dosa!"

"Stayed at Raffles Jaipur from 27 Feb to 1 Mar 2026 under the "World of Wellness" package. Paid ₹97,940 for the stay — one night paid, and the second night under Accor's Member Stay Plus benefit. The booking confirmation clearly states under Package Inclusions: "Sensorial Menus for All Meals" — meaning all meals are included in the rate. When my family, including young kids, went down to the restaurant for a meal, the waiter flatly told us meals are not included. Imagine the embarrassment — you've paid nearly a lakh for two nights at a luxury property, your kids are hungry and excited, and you're being told at the table that what was promised in your confirmed booking doesn't apply. This is not a miscommunication — it's a clear disconnect between what Raffles sells on paper and what they honor on the ground. The staff seemed completely unaware of the package inclusions, which is unacceptable at a property of this caliber. I chose this property specifically for the World of Wellness package and its inclusions. The bare minimum expectation at a Raffles property is that the hotel honors its own confirmed booking terms. If you advertise "Sensorial Menus for All Meals" as a package inclusion, deliver on it — don't make guests fight for it at the dining table in front of their family. Extremely disappointing experience from a brand that markets itself as the pinnacle of luxury hospitality."

"⸻ ★★★★★ Our stay at Raffles Jaipur was exceptional. The property truly feels like a modern Queen’s Palace — serene, refined, and beautifully designed. The rooms are luxurious and thoughtfully appointed, with world-class service. The architecture and interiors are breathtaking, but what truly elevates this hotel is the experience. We came to relax, and that is exactly what happened. The atmosphere is calm and refined without ever feeling stiff. It genuinely feels like a “Queen’s Palace” — regal yet warm. The details matter here. The in-room amenities are exceptional (including some of the most luxurious soaps and bath products we’ve experienced anywhere in the world). The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and privacy. The culinary experience deserves special mention. Every meal felt intentional and refined — world-class flavors, elegant presentation, and attentive yet unobtrusive service. Dining here is not just convenient — it’s a highlight of the stay. What sets this hotel apart is the service — gracious, attentive, and among the best we’ve experienced anywhere in the world. We left completely relaxed and already looking forward to returning."
