"The Hotel itself is lovely - great location, comfortable rooms and great value. However, when we stayed there recently the hotel experienced a network-wide failure which, for some reason, affected the WiFi, TV, phone, and automated systems in the room. This meant the lights, curtains and bathroom door kept turning on and off and opening and closing seemingly at random or in response to the smallest movement throughout the night. At first we wondered whether we were at fault for being too “restless” in our sleep but after it happened around 20 times, it got too unbearable, so we went down to reception at 3.30am and were informed that this was due to a wider issue affecting everyone on the first and second floor and that multiple people had reported the same issue. To be fair to the Chancery, they offered us a complimentary spa treatment as an apology for the inconvenience, which we appreciated as a gesture. However, what was disappointing was not just the technical malfunction itself, but how it was handled. In all subsequent emails I have had with them they have reiterated that the network issue was beyond their control, but the bigger failure was the lack of proactive communication with guests. I’m sure this was an exceptional case and I sincerely hope it doesn’t happen again. However, if the technology is designed such that a network failure can cause lights, curtains and doors to malfunction throughout the night, I would encourage the management to review that system and ensure robust contingency plans are in place. At the very least, guests affected by a known issue should be informed proactively rather than left to discover the problem themselves. Unfortunately, the positives of the hotel were very much overshadowed by this experience."

"Highly recommend the restaurant, Gary and Arten (not too sure how spell his name but…) they are so lovely, have class and work very well together, just as good as Flavia and Joao at reception, while she gave us the warmest welcome ever, he took care of our bags and without even been asked to, such a gentleman! Can’t get over the charcuterie board, that may seem small but it’s incredibly fulfilling! The room is cozy, and city view is beautiful!"

"A very nice stay. We arrived into Dublin having flown overnight and were tired. We didn't have to wait long for them to get our room open early and they gave us suggestions on where we could spend a little time. The staff was VERY friendly and let us change out of our plane clothing. We also got to use the Wellness Area which is no extra charge! It has a a hot tub, sauna and steam room plus water to keep you hydrated. This was a godsend after our long plane ride. Check out was at 12 which let us sleep in. The rooms had some odd tech (an electric bathroom door that sort of malfunctioned) but nothing weird enough to make it a bad stay. The room we had was on a corner which made it a bit smaller than we expected but we still had enough room."

"Great location, clean rooms, modern feel to the whole hotel. The hotel is only a few minutes walking from just about anywhere of importance south of the Liffey. Would be my first choice if we return to Dublin."
