"Absolutely disappointed in this stay at the hotel we still have currently one more night to stay and if I could I’d leave now but already paid a fortune 780 euro for mediocre service. When we arrived we were told we were booked into the separate townhouse apartment but not to worry it’s quieter, no wonder absolutely no staff to help with any kind of service. Opened door to the tiniest room I’ve ever seen it actually shocked me was more like a cupboard, bed squashed in corner with tv at bottom of the bed which only had three channels due to no reception. No cupboard to hang up clothes the toilet shower was even smaller to get into the shower you had to squeeze into a corner of the shower to try and get the shower door closed, paper cups instead of mugs for coffee and the stuff for coffee stuffed into the cup zero room to move. Zero staff in the building all day except a security guard when we returned that night, a bar in the apartments but that was closed completely. The rooms weren’t very clean dust along the paneling along the toilet sliding door zero privacy in a small space with this sliding door. Not to mention the noise from the street of taxis beeping horns all night. Then you have to leave the building in your walk few yards down to go into the main hotel to get any amenities like the pool which to be honest was the only good thing I can say about the hotel lovely staff there and lovely heated pool.then went to the rooftop bar on the first day and it’s filthy metal panels hanging off wires lying everywhere, bird poo on the seats and just very run down. When we walked into the smoking area we didn’t want any food just a drink and when my partner asked a waiter for drinks now considering the roof top was practically empty he was told you need to ask a manager can you be seated there and my partner said for what we are residents in the hotel we aren’t looking food, we just want a drink in the smoking area which didn’t require a reservation and it’s not like your busy. The waiter replied well you can’t have a drink you need to ask the manager can you sit there at this point we got up and left, totally rude and obnoxious attitude I would look over it if was packed out and we wanted food it was a smoking area with zero people sitting at it. When I went down to reception to complain the attitude we had just received, reception staff seemed more interested than the man in the moon, and in fact one girl actually said well maybe management need to know who’s coming and going, to which I replied it was a smoking area not a restaurant and it’s empty it’s not a big deal we paid more than enough to stay here and can’t even get a drink at the bar. I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had so far how they justify charging those prices for a cupboard room is beyond me and no staff to even say anything to in our apartment. You have to go to the main building for anything which in itself is total inconvenience. Have to get fully dressed to go and walk out down the street to use the pool facilities and no breakfast options in the apartment. Plus they also requested security deposit when we arrived which wasn’t stated anywhere when we booked god knows how long that will take for a refund. We also had to request a change of towels and bed cleaning as this isn’t a standard option in the apartment like it would be in the hotel lol considering the townhouse apartments are dearer than the main hotel no idea why as it’s sub standard accommodation. Never would i recommend a stay here and raging I still have to do another night here. Don’t waste your money here, better places which are cheaper across the street."

"Disappointing. Rooms are very hot and air conditioning isn't adequate, and the front desk comes up, and housekeeping comes up, all to say that it's as cold as it's going to be, and our two rooms are really hot."

"We booked The Dean back in January for this coming week. We got an email on Friday saying they had to cancel our booking due to renovations and offered us a room in the docklands. I rang and explained why this option wouldn’t work for us, they insisted they did not have any other rooms available yet there was a room available on their website at the time. The exact room I had booked is back in sale for an extra €100 so the renovations must have been magically completed over the last 48 hours even though it’s a weekend. Very disappointing experience and will not be staying at a Dean hotel again."

"For a room rate of €250 for one night the breakfast was appalling! Granola, fruit, yogurt and stale toast and pastries. Very limited and no cooked option. Won't be back!"

"We had our wedding reception in the Dean Dublin in May 2026. From the beginning the events team in particular Kaela was great and very responsive to any queries we had which made working with her to confirm details of the day easy. Although there was a change to our plans on the day due to refurbishment in the Hotel, Kaela & David (hotel manager) were excellent, offering a choice of contingency plans & working hard to ensure our day went ahead smoothly. We had our reception in the Townhouse/ Marshall Room which are both lovely spaces, especially if looking for something trendy & less traditional. Kaela ensured the set up of the room was appropriate for our numbers and was very flexible with changes. Food was excellent and a stand out with both ourselves and our guests, as food at weddings can be sub par due to the number of guests being catered for. We particularly liked that there was the option of steak for main course and that we could choose two dessert options. The staff on the night were amazing, ensuring everything ran smoothly and no request was too much. There were no delays or periods of waiting around, and the evening flowed perfectly from one part of the celebration to the next. Overall we had a great day & would highly recommend couples looking for a city-centre location with excellent food & service."
