"Unfortunately, what should have been a beautiful stay at Villa Treville has been completely overshadowed by the disappearance of my Rolex, valued at approximately $24,000, and the way the situation has been handled. Before traveling to Italy, my Rolex was packed inside a travel watch case in my carry-on luggage. My carry-on remained with me throughout my travels and was never checked as baggage at any point during my flights. I arrived in Italy on Sunday and did not wear or remove the Rolex from the travel case after arriving. On Wednesday evening, while staying at Villa Treville, I opened the case because I intended to wear the watch to dinner. The travel watch case was still inside my carry-on, but the Rolex was no longer inside it. We immediately reported the missing watch to hotel management that same evening. I was extremely disappointed by the initial response. Rather than feeling that a serious loss was being met with urgency and concern, the response felt defensive and focused on the assertion that something like this had never happened before. After returning to the United States, I had my home, luggage and belongings thoroughly searched to eliminate the possibility that the watch had been left at home or simply misplaced. It has not been found. I subsequently escalated the matter to Villa Treville’s ownership. The hotel advised me that it conducted an internal investigation and found no evidence establishing that the watch was stolen from our room or that a member of its staff was responsible. I requested clarification regarding what investigative steps were actually taken, including whether room-access records, relevant security footage and staff access were reviewed. I have also contacted the Carabinieri Station in Positano. Because I had already returned to the United States, they informed me that they could not accept my formal report by email and directed me to contact the appropriate Italian Embassy or Consulate regarding the procedure for formalizing the report from abroad. I followed those instructions and contacted the Italian Consulate in Los Angeles. I want to be clear that I am not accusing any particular Villa Treville employee of taking my watch because I do not know who is responsible for its disappearance. However, the circumstances are extremely concerning. A $24,000 Rolex that had been stored inside a travel watch case is missing, while the empty travel case remained inside my carry-on. I reported the discovery immediately while I was still a guest at the hotel. For a property operating at Villa Treville’s level and price point, I expected far greater urgency, transparency and assistance when dealing with such a significant incident. Villa Treville is undeniably a beautiful property. Unfortunately, the handling of this situation has completely changed my impression of the hotel and overshadowed our experience. As of this review, my Rolex remains missing and the matter remains unresolved."

"If I could give this hotel 10 stars I would. Just perfection from our arrival to our departure. Villa Tre Ville is truly a special and unique place, it's like staying in a private villa. We loved the Bianco Bar! Each evening after returning from dinner my wife and I would have a drink in the bar. It was like our private bar, such a wonderful way to finish each day. We will return!"

"As someone who has stayed several times at Villa TreVille and enjoyed it thoroughly, I can confirm that this is a very special place for those visiting the marvellous Costiera Amalfitana area. No doubt you will love every minute of it. However, I was disappointed to read on the website a claim implying that your room would offer views of the sea from Positano (true) to Amalfi (untrue): there is no way whatsoever one can get the slightest glimpse of Amalfi from Villa TreVille or anywhere around…"
