PB hotel design editorial

Draped across a hillside in Anacapri with umbrella pines framing views toward Vesuvius and the open Tyrrhenian, the white-rendered volumes of Capri Palace Jumeirah carry the particular authority of a property that has shaped its own landscape over decades rather than simply arriving within one. Founded by Tonino Cacace in 1962 and steadily expanded into its current form of around 68 rooms and suites, the hotel wraps its terraced gardens — bougainvillea in magenta, clipped box hedges, cordylines threading between arched loggias — around a pool terrace whose orange sunloungers and parasols have become as much a part of the island's visual identity as the Faraglioni. The interiors hold two distinct registers in productive tension. Warmer rooms lean into a creamy southern Italian domesticity — limestone-tiled floors, draped canopy beds with rope tassels, terracotta cushion accents, and white-painted dressing tables recalling the island's vernacular villa tradition. The cooler, more recently refreshed suites strip everything back to Caprese white, blue linen runners and indigo scatter cushions against majolica-patterned floor tiles, the palette at once timeless and sharply considered. At the rooftop restaurant, teak decking and woven rattan chairs face west across the bay at dusk, the massing of Ischia dissolving into amber light — a reminder that at Capri Palace, the setting has always been as deliberately composed as anything within the walls.

"Our stay at Jumeirah Capri Palace was exceptional from start to finish. We were welcomed with warm, attentive service, and the hotel combines refined luxury with the authentic charm of Capri, all set in a stunning Mediterranean atmosphere with beautiful views and elegant design. The experience was elevated by its impressive art collection and outstanding dining, the 2-Michelin-star restaurant with creative, flawless cuisine and impeccable service. Across the entire property, every detail felt carefully curated. What stood out most was the consistently high level of hospitality professional, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. A truly memorable Capri experience we would happily recommend and repeat."

"We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Capri Palace, and it was an exceptional experience from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived, the service set the tone for something truly special. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional, creating an atmosphere that felt both elegant and genuinely welcoming rather than formal or distant. A heartfelt mention goes to Eljon (apologies if the spelling is off), who welcomed us each morning at breakfast. His deep knowledge of the beautifully prepared dishes elevated the entire breakfast experience and added a personal touch that made each morning memorable he is truly an asset to the hotel. Veronica, who served us at both lunch and dinner in the outdoor setting, was equally wonderful gracious, attentive, and consistently a joy to interact with. Our room was stunning, featuring a private patio with breathtaking views over the Amalfi Coast. It was the kind of setting that makes you pause repeatedly just to take it all in. It’s also worth noting that guests should be sure to request an updated room, as many of the Amalfi-view accommodations have recently been beautifully renovated and feel especially fresh and elevated. The hotel’s location is ideal secluded enough for complete relaxation, yet perfectly positioned for exploring the island with ease. A standout highlight of our stay was dining at the hotel’s two-Michelin-star restaurant, L’Olivo. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary refined, creative, and flawlessly executed from start to finish. It absolutely lives up to its reputation and is a destination in its own right. Another thoughtful touch that deserves mention is the seamless logistics: the hotel arranges drivers who meet you at the port, transport your luggage directly up to the property, and then return it for your ferry departure. It removes all stress from arrival and departure and reflects the level of care the hotel puts into every detail. It’s rare to find a property where every element is so carefully considered and consistently delivered at such a high level. We cannot recommend the Capri Palace highly enough it was an unforgettable and truly remarkable stay. Thank you from: The Tenpenny's, Steskel's, Keatons, & Schumaker's!"
