PB hotel design editorial

Just steps from the Piazzetta — Capri's famous open-air drawing room where the island's social life has long converged — the Capri Tiberio Palace presents a facade of cream stucco arcades and wrought-iron balconies that feels less like a hotel and more like a private palazzo that simply decided to open its doors. The building, which traces its origins to the early twentieth century and sits on Via Croce at the quiet edge of the town's center, was transformed by interior designer Francesca Mechanisms — though it is the Neapolitan design studio's intervention, led by a sensibility rooted in postwar Italian glamour, that defines the current identity most sharply. The interiors carry the spirit of the island's mid-century golden age without tipping into pastiche. Rooms feature bold broad-stripe flooring in sand and white, paired with teal-upholstered armchairs drawn from the vocabulary of 1950s Italian furniture — forms that echo Ico Parisi or early Cassina production — and Roman blinds in acid green or deep plum trimmed with contrasting ribbon. Framed fashion illustrations hang above beds in a gesture toward Capri's long relationship with style. The terrace bar, framed by arched openings with linen curtains pulled to each side, frames the Tyrrhenian Sea as a deliberate composition. The lap pool, running beneath a coffered colonnade with palm trees at each end, channels the cool geometry of a Roman bath reimagined for the leisure-minded present.

"We’ve been to Capri many times and previously stayed at the Punta Tragara or Quisisana hotels. At friend’s recommendation we decided to stay at the Tiberio Palace on our last trip and it didn’t disappoint! It’s a beautifully designed hotel, perfectly located close to the center and yet subtly removed from the hustle and bustle of the main through ways. Upon arrival we were upgraded to the Chantecler Suite which was nothing short of breathtaking. Very spacious, meticulously designed and furnished, with separate bedroom, living room and the bathroom the size of many hotel rooms. To top it off, the suite opened up to a patio with chairs and sun beds. In a word - spectacular! The staff at the hotel was most gracious and accommodating. Special mention belongs to Francesco, the head Concierge. All of our pre-arrival arrangements were handled promptly and with utmost care. If your travels bring you to Capri, I highly recommend this property. Lastly, it’s just steps away from popular restaurants like Aurora and Luce."

"Very well located hotel in Capri City with modern and charming facilities. The hotel is in a calm street by the center. Perfect. The service is fine. Good breakfast, nice dinner and great views. Pool area a bit disappointing but fair enough. Missing some vibes and more commitment from the staff to make the stay a bit more enjoyable; everything is fine but just some extra miles could make the experience better. Invest in the customer care, anticipate your guests needs, improve the amenities and it will be perfect"

"The minute we walked into this hotel we were greeted with cold, homemade lemon with mint drinks. All of the staff were very attentive, polite and hospitable. We even booked a massage at their spa and it was pure heaven. The hotel is exceptionally clean. They have turn down service and are always willing to go the extra mile to service guests. I wish we were staying longer, but will definitely return. The hotel also has a Michelin rated restaurant on site and, oh my goodness, the food was so fresh and delicious. I could not feel more pampered."
