PB hotel design editorial

Just steps from the Piazzetta — Capri's famous open-air drawing room where the island's social life has long converged — the Capri Tiberio Palace presents a facade of cream stucco arcades and wrought-iron balconies that feels less like a hotel and more like a private palazzo that simply decided to open its doors. The building, which traces its origins to the early twentieth century and sits on Via Croce at the quiet edge of the town's center, was transformed by interior designer Francesca Mechanisms — though it is the Neapolitan design studio's intervention, led by a sensibility rooted in postwar Italian glamour, that defines the current identity most sharply. The interiors carry the spirit of the island's mid-century golden age without tipping into pastiche. Rooms feature bold broad-stripe flooring in sand and white, paired with teal-upholstered armchairs drawn from the vocabulary of 1950s Italian furniture — forms that echo Ico Parisi or early Cassina production — and Roman blinds in acid green or deep plum trimmed with contrasting ribbon. Framed fashion illustrations hang above beds in a gesture toward Capri's long relationship with style. The terrace bar, framed by arched openings with linen curtains pulled to each side, frames the Tyrrhenian Sea as a deliberate composition. The lap pool, running beneath a coffered colonnade with palm trees at each end, channels the cool geometry of a Roman bath reimagined for the leisure-minded present.

"The hotel is in a beautiful setting away from the busiest parts of Capri but still handy for getting about and only a few steps from great shopping. The welcome was superb with a welcome drink in Jacky’s Bar. - I’d recommend the spritz made with lemincelo. The staff are great. So helpful. The most unusual feature is the art work. It is brilliantly curated and features groups of items. These are found in the public spaces and bedrooms. Everything is done so well and tasteful. The rooms are modern Italian styled and spacious. Ours had shoe storage for 30 pairs if you like travelling heavy! The only downside is breakfast. The service is awful. We must have asked for some items like coffee 3 times, butter 7 times. It’s amazing that a hotel of such standing cannot deliver a coordinated breakfast when all other items are so perfect."

"We had a wonderful stay at Capri Tiberio Palace. The hotel was so nice and the views were fantastic. Everyone who works at Capri Tiberio Palace was so nice and always so helpful. We really enjoyed Jacky Bar at Capri Tiberio Palace for before dinner drinks and after. The bar manager, Marco, was outstanding. He makes the best cocktails! The cocktail list is very creative. Marco also was very knowledgeable about wine. Marco always helped us find our perfect drink to make our vacation perfect! The bar is run very well with bar snacks and Marco and everyone who works at Jacky Bar are very attentive! Great service! We can’t wait to return! Cheers!"

"The best hotel we visited in costa Amalfitana. Beautiful rooms, large and updated decorated. Wonderful terrace to bay view. Best breakfast with porch eggs in 3 different ways of serving..best cakes and muffins. Minibar is free of charge and full cold drinks. Vittoria in reception and Luca in dining room were so nice, friendly and helpful so we had to give them credit to our appreciation. We highly recommend the hotel, best located and atmosphere."
